Well, “Alumni Lovers” was one of the most-awaited dramas, and with the release of the first episode, it proved to be worth the wait because it has all the elements of fun, humour, and feelings in the same place, and the former classmates reminiscing about their old days reminds everyone that some of the best memories we made were during our school years.
What to Expect?
Well, the upcoming dating reality show promises a diverse cast of eight former classmates being gathered at a training camp to provide an opportunity to reminisce about their school years together in hopes of falling in love with each other and exploring the possibility of falling in love with each other.
The series’ prime focus is on schoolmates who have shared a connection of love or friendship in the past during their school years getting an opportunity to rekindle the same feeling while being gathered together in the training camp.
The previous episode of the series starts with the panel appointed to help the schoolmates feel comfortable with each other and fall in love. They are introduced as they discuss their feelings towards falling in love at an alumni reunion, and each of the panellists has a different opinion on the same.
The first episode featured alumni who graduated in 2012 from Seoul Sindong Elementary School, an elementary school located in Jamwon-dong, Seoul, that invited eight schoolmates who attended the alumni to the dating reality show.
The first alumni to arrive at the training camp to find a connection with his former schoolmates is Lee Eun-hak, who then introduced himself to the audience while sharing more about his personality and his childhood during school days, as he was one of those students who liked doing everything.
While Eun-hak waits for the arrival of the remaining schoolmates, he is questioned about the female schoolmate he desires to meet at the camp, to which he blurts out the name Kim Tae-eun, surprising the panellists as he still remembers the name of the schoolmate even though they weren’t close friends.
Well, as luck would have it, the next person to walk into the dorm for the alumni meeting is Kim Tae-eun, who then gives a brief introduction about herself before informing the panellists that her purpose in being on the show is to find her true love.
The chemistry between Eun-hak and Kim Tae-eun is undeniable, as the moment the two greet each other with gleeful smiles appears magical, and well, Eun-hak seems nervous in Kim Tae-eun’s presence before asking her if she remembers him, to which Kim Tae-eun replies by calling out his correct name.
The duo sits in awkward silence while waiting for others, with Eun-hak stealing glances at Kim Tae-eun before the two start talking about their days during elementary school. Eun-hak opens up about feeling warm and fuzzy after he meets with Kim Tae-eun, following which Song Ji-na enters the dorm, talking about her personality and hobbies during her elementary school days.
Well, the former schoolmates arrive and decide their chores, with the girls choosing their duties before the boys arrive to choose theirs, and most of the boys choose the duty the girl they were interested in was doing before the schoolmates start talking.
The episode ends with the schoolmates playing a game of questioning each other, and the chosen person honestly answers the question.
