Housing Complex C Episode 1 Recap
A mystery man follows two kids named Kimi and Yuri into a cellar at the start of Housing Complex C’s first episode. Yuri hits him in the head with a chunk of timber when he gets to them. The man tumbles. He glances down at the water that the vase’s shattering left behind in the form of a puddle.
A group of guys that resemble samurai invade an area nearby and explore a tunnel in the past. The troops and residents of this island are being murdered by these samurai, who seems to be from an opposing country. Two maidens were cornered within the cave by the samurai, who brutally killed one of them while startling and frightening the other.
The maiden, who is still alive, cries, creating ultrasonic vibrations that kill the samurai. After losing, she consoles her fallen buddy, which brings the enigmatic man into the present. This man yells out Kimi’s name, but Yuri’s father and his wife knock him out. The show’s title card is introduced as the man begins to mutter a scary mantra.
We get a quick rundown on the Kurosaki village’s inhabitants, traditions, and setting for the anime. A local called Taka notices a strange object peeking out of one of Kurosaki’s caverns while sightseeing. Taka replies that nothing is wrong after one of the locals inquires what’s happening before continuing to take in the scenery via his binoculars.
Later, Taka approaches his friends to talk about Kimi. A senior citizen stumbles by and complains that Taka and his pals ought to be assisting with the burial procession rather than unwinding. Taka believes the Kurosaki funeral custom will fade away one day, despite her want for it too.
He provides a quick historical explanation to illustrate why the customs are still practiced in Kurosaki. He takes another look through his binoculars when Kimi startles him. Kimi welcomes everyone while lamenting the heat. Kimi protests that the shower is too hot despite the woman’s suggestion that she cool off at the outside sink.
After moaning about the heat, Kimi develops a hankering for shaved ice, which inspires the elderly people to go to the storehouse. Seichi’s wife, Keiko Yoshide, introduces Momo to her and her daughter Yuri. If they’ve upset Momo and her group in any way, Keiko is sorry.
She describes Seichi’s role as a liaison between enterprises and international technical interns and expresses concern that there may have been a misunderstanding that resulted in a commotion. She asks Momo to let her know if there are any problems, and Momo gives a similar statement in return.
Since the majority of inhabitants are elderly, Momo is pleased that the complex has more younger residents. When Yuri sees Momo’s doorplate, she responds that Hideo is her husband. Hideo is her son, and he is having some problems, Momo tells the woman. She tells Yuri to say hello to Hideo and that he’s a kind guy if she ever sees him.
When Kimi gets to Momo’s, she discovers an oddity. Her calls are going unanswered, therefore Momo’s flat is being looked into. Hideo’s door is open, so Kimi smashes one of his anime miniatures before slowly peering inside. In the final scene of the episode, Kimi finds Hideo’s dead body curiously placed on his desk. She declares that the scenario in front of her is a false representation.
