House of the Dragon Episode 8 Spoilers are in order, and here is what the fans can expect from the same. By the end of the last episode, we saw that Rhaenyra and Daemon had married each other in the pure Valyrian traditions. This was an attempt by the Targaryens to continue their pure Targaryen bloodline on the Iron Throne and established dominance.
Together, they will be that inevitable power couple against whom nobody can say a word. As for Laenor, he has escaped Westeros to go across the Narrow Sea with his lover. Allicent is still holding her revenge high along with her father as the Hand again. Well, let us now talk about the future and how it will up with the next episode.
We already know that The King’s health is deteriorating with each passing episode. This is symbolic of having the weight of the crown upon one’s head. In House of the Dragon Episode 8, we will witness the King being bedridden and unconscious. This will give the Hightower clan a chance to make their moves as the Hand now rules in the name of the King. Rhaenyra is obviously worried about the same because the father-daughter duo is on the throne, passing commands for the whole realm, which shall ensure their favor.
House of the Dragon Episode 8 Spoilers
Rhaenyra could establish her control over the throne in one of two ways. First, either the King gets well and is fit to sit on the throne again. Or the second, the King dies, and Rhaenyra takes his place as the heir to the Iron Throne. The first option seems next to impossible, and thus, she will have to resort to “killing her own father”. I know it sounds brutal but in the holy words of Cersei Lannister, “when you play the Game of Thrones, you either win or you die”. Rhaenyra and Daemon are obviously not up for the second option and are hoping to play the game for much longer than this.
Now, the biggest change we shall see in the next episode comes with the kids. Their cast members will be changed in order to show them as teenagers. Every one of them has grown up, meaning significant time has passed between these two episodes. Another significant thing that will be shown to us in the next episode is the Sea Snake and House Velaryon. The trailer for the next episode suggests that he has taken a “significant failure at the Stepstones”.
Will The King Viserys Die?
If the Seasnake is out of the question, it will be up to Princess Rhaenys to take charge in his name. Even though she has not got any significant role just yet, I have a gut feeling that she will be crucial during the Targaryen civil war, Dance of the Dragons. A clip in the trailer suggests that Daemon finds a new Dragon’s egg. The video ends with Otto Hightower saying that the threat of war looms within them.
Also, Viserys seems to have a voiceover where he says that The Crown cannot stand tall against the enemies if the House of The Dragon remains divided in itself. It will obviously be a grave danger for all of them if the Crown falls. But with Rhaenyra and Daemon together, we cannot lose hope so easily. They have a heart, but they also have a sense of duty towards the realm as well as themselves.
Also, there’s a thing. Allicent never fully understood that Rhaenyra never wanted to harm her or her children. She just wanted to live in peace and rule in peace. The war originated from the mind of Otto Hightower, who projected her insecurity onto her, and now she is doing the same with her children. Rhaenyra never raised her children to hate Allicent’s sons.
