Master Chief is a genetically altered super soldier who represents the United Nations Space Command’s best chance of overcoming the alien Covenant. He was originally introduced to viewers in the first episode of Halo Season 2.
It retained some of Season 1’s shortcomings even as it veered away from some of its contentious aspects. Similar events occur in Episode 2, when the fighting on Reach intensifies and the program periodically pulls viewers away to discuss problems in other parts of the galaxy.
However, this is downplayed, and there is a lot of fascinating drama on Reach. Although Chief spends the entire episode feeling hot beneath the helmet and irritated, the Spartans surrounding him are given more depth. most likely the reason he keeps taking it off.
