Gran Turismo 7 has sold an estimated 1.3 million copies in 2026, generating approximately $74.7 million in revenue for PlayStation, according to new market estimates from Alinea Analytics. The figures highlight the continued commercial performance of Polyphony Digital’s racing simulator, which originally launched in March 2022.
Despite being more than four years old, the game continues to attract millions of players and generate substantial revenue for Sony. Its latest performance also contributes to an estimated lifetime total of 12.7 million copies sold and $840 million in revenue across PlayStation platforms.
The latest figures were shared by Rhys Elliott of Alinea Analytics in a November 3 report examining the commercial performance of major gaming releases. While newer PlayStation titles frequently dominate gaming discussions, Gran Turismo 7 has quietly maintained its position among Sony’s highest-grossing first-party games.
Gran Turismo 7 Generates $74.7 Million From 1.3 Million Sales in 2026
According to Alinea Analytics, Gran Turismo 7 generated $74.7 million through approximately 1.3 million copies sold during 2026. This is particularly notable considering that the game has already passed its fourth anniversary and continues to compete for attention against newer releases.
Its yearly performance shows how the racing simulator has maintained a consistent commercial presence since launch.
In 2023, the game sold approximately 2.9 million copies, generating $189.7 million. The following year brought another 2.7 million sales and $161.3 million in revenue. In 2025, it added 1.7 million copies and generated $119.1 million.
The latest 2026 figures indicate that demand has continued even as annual sales have gradually declined.
ESTIMATED ANNUAL SALES AND REVENUE
| Year | Copies sold | Revenue |
|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 2.9 million | $189.7 million |
| 2024 | 2.7 million | $161.3 million |
| 2025 | 1.7 million | $119.1 million |
| 2026 | 1.3 million | $74.7 million |
Alinea also estimates that Gran Turismo 7 attracts approximately 3 million players every month, with between 400,000 and 700,000 daily active players. These figures demonstrate that the game continues to maintain an active audience alongside its long-term sales performance.

Gran Turismo 7’s Christmas Sales Continue to Boost PlayStation Revenue
Another important factor behind the game’s long-term performance is its unusually strong holiday sales. According to Alinea Analytics, December has consistently become one of Gran Turismo 7’s strongest revenue periods, with Christmas week generating between three and five times its typical weekly earnings.
The game’s Christmas week revenue reached $14.7 million in 2023, representing 4.6 times that year’s median weekly revenue. In 2024, the figure stood at $9.3 million, or 3.3 times the median, while Christmas week 2025 generated $8.5 million, approximately 4.6 times the usual weekly amount.
Interestingly, these sales peaks did not depend entirely on discounts. Gran Turismo 7 maintained its $59.99 price during December 2023 and December 2025. Although the game received a discount later in December 2024, its biggest weekly revenue period that year also occurred at full price.
This consistent holiday demand could help the game maintain its commercial momentum heading into the end of 2026.
Gran Turismo 7 Continues to Outperform Forza Motorsport in Sales
Alinea Analytics also compared Gran Turismo 7 with Microsoft’s Forza Motorsport, highlighting a substantial difference in their estimated commercial performances.
According to the report, Forza Motorsport has sold approximately 1.3 million copies across Xbox and Steam, generating $89.9 million in revenue since its 2023 release. In comparison, Gran Turismo 7 had already sold 10.2 million copies and generated $676.1 million on PlayStation by the equivalent point in its release timeline.
The comparison requires some context, however. Forza Motorsport launched without support for previous-generation Xbox consoles and has been available through Xbox Game Pass, where nearly 7 million players have accessed it. Meanwhile, less than a quarter of Gran Turismo 7’s estimated revenue comes from its PS4 version.
Nevertheless, the figures highlight the continued commercial strength of Sony’s racing franchise.
With 1.3 million additional copies sold in 2026 and $74.7 million in estimated revenue, Gran Turismo 7 remains an important contributor to PlayStation’s first-party business. Its sustained player activity and recurring holiday sales also show why older premium games can remain commercially relevant years after launch.
