David Harbour has revealed that his upcoming Netflix spy thriller with Millie Bobby Brown will feature a surprising and emotionally intense relationship dynamic, describing the project as something that will be both “rich” and “wild.” The series will reunite the two actors after their popular pairing as Hopper and Eleven in Stranger Things.
In an interview with Deadline, Harbour explained that the new show gives him and Brown an opportunity to explore a different kind of bond. He said fans loved the relationship between Hopper and Eleven, but he felt that even the final season of Stranger Things could not fully deliver the emotional payoff audiences wanted from their connection.

Harbour said,
“One of the most beautiful things about [Stranger Things] was people love that show and they loved Hopper and Eleven. They loved that relationship.”
He added that the new project allows him and Brown to create something with similar chemistry while introducing a completely different story.
“I think Millie and I, I think we wanted to bring you something with the chemistry of these two, of me and her, that will surprise you and that will be rich, and have that deep emotion, but also be just wild,”
Harbour told Deadline.
The upcoming Netflix series comes from writer Jack Thorne, known for projects including Adolescence, and is being produced by A24. Harbour praised Thorne’s writing and said the series will explore themes connected to the modern world.
The story follows disgraced FBI agent Matt Wolfe, played by Harbour, who returns to the world he abandoned after his estranged daughter Rebecca, now an FBI agent herself, disappears during a mission. The disappearance forces the father and daughter to reunite as they face a dangerous situation together.
Harbour and Brown are also serving as executive producers on the project alongside Brown’s husband Jake Bongiovi and her father Robert Brown through Brown’s production company PCMA Productions.
The series marks another collaboration between Harbour and Brown following their years working together on Stranger Things, where their characters became one of the most beloved relationships in the Netflix series.
