Based in the city of Brighton & Hove, Grace is a British crime show that premiered its first season on March 14th, 2021. The show is currently airing its third season, with the first episode launched on March 19th, 2023. The show is named after the name of the main lead, Roy Grace.
The crime drama follows the life of Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, who has given all of his life’s hard work to his job. Grace lost his wife when she disappeared a few years ago and was never found. This loss continues to haunt Grace but also pushes him to use his interest in paranormal activities to solve his cases at his job.
Producers of the show have claimed that the show has taken heavy inspiration from Peter James’ best-selling collection of novels, Roy Grace. The show stars John Simm as Detective Superintendent Roy Grace and Richie Campbell as Detective Sergeant Glenn Branson. The show also has Brad Morrison as DC Nick Nicholl alongside popular actress Rakie Ayola as Alison Vosper, the Assistant Chief Constable.
The show, over its three seasons, has put together a small but talented cast of actors in supporting roles. Since its release in 2021, the pilot episode itself garnered a positive response from viewers and critics, which led to the show being renewed for its second and third installments.
The second season of the show released a total of three episodes, with the finale focusing on a brand new case of dead bodies floating from the sea bed to the surface of the water. We see in the episode how Grace manages to solve the case, and just before the credits roll, Grace gets a call from someone telling him that there might be a chance that his wife, Sandy Grace, may be alive.
