A large portion of the cast, including the returning Natasha Rothwell, has already been revealed for the third season, which will take place in Thailand. The first two seasons were set in Hawaii and Sicily, respectively.
The White Lotus’ official Instagram account posted a set photo, announcing that the third season of the show had officially begun filming. The clapperboard is seen in the set photo, with Thailand—the opulent setting for season 3—in the distance.
As with all of the show’s episodes, episode one is directed by White, according to the slate. The Instagram description for the image says, “At #TheWhiteLotus, unforgettable experiences are being created. We can’t wait to have more visitors to our resort in Thailand.”

Much of the cast for The White Lotus season 3 was known before filming began. Several well-known actors were cast in the run-up to production, including Michelle Monaghan, Sam Nivola, Parker Posey, Aimee Lou Wood, Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs, and Lalisa Manobal.

Plot details for White Lotus season 3 are yet unknown. But according to White, the third season would be “supersized” and “longer, bigger, crazier,” offering a satirical look at “death and Eastern religion and spirituality.”
Rothwell said that she “gasped out loud” several times while reading the scripts for season 3. As HBO president Casey Bloys had projected, The White Lotus season 3 should debut in 2025, now that filming has officially begun.
