Rudy is a young girl with a big dream—she wants to become the greatest weaponsmith in the world. But for now, she is just an apprentice working at a small hardware store. While other people in the city admire famous heroes and adventurers, Rudy is more interested in the weapons they use. She believes that a true hero needs the perfect weapon, and she wants to be the one to create it.
However, there is one problem—her weapons are a little too crazy!
Rudy’s master is a skilled weaponsmith who runs a small but respected hardware store in the heart of the dungeon-city. This city is home to many adventurers who go into deep dungeons to hunt monsters and find treasure. Every day, warriors, mages, and rogues visit the store, looking for weapons, armor, and tools to help them survive their dangerous quests.
As an apprentice, Rudy is supposed to learn the basics—sharpening swords, repairing shields, and making simple weapons. But she can’t help experimenting. Instead of forging normal swords, she creates weapons with strange designs. A hammer that shoots fire? A sword with a rotating blade? A spear that folds into a crossbow? She comes up with all kinds of ideas, but her master is never impressed.
“Rudy! No one wants a sword that glows in the dark but melts in the sun!” her master yells. Still, Rudy refuses to give up. She believes that one day, one of her creations will change the world.

The dungeon-city is always busy. Adventurers gather in taverns to share stories, merchants sell rare materials, and blacksmiths work hard to meet the demands of their customers. While heroes battle monsters, regular people like Rudy and her master keep the city running. Without weaponsmiths, adventurers wouldn’t have the tools they need to fight.
Despite her failures, some adventurers take an interest in Rudy’s unique weapons. One day, a reckless young hero named Lyle walks into the shop and sees one of her experimental swords.
“This looks interesting,” he says, picking up a blade with a strange glowing core.
“That’s my Shockwave Sword!” Rudy explains. “It releases a small explosion every time it hits something.”
Lyle grins. “I’ll take it!”
Rudy’s master sighs but allows the sale. To everyone’s surprise, Lyle returns a few days later, excited. “This sword saved my life in the dungeon! Rudy, you might be onto something.” Rudy still has a long way to go before she becomes the world’s greatest weaponsmith, but moments like this give her hope. She continues learning from her master while secretly working on new designs.
Maybe one day, her crazy weapons will become legendary. Until then, she will keep forging, dreaming, and proving that even an apprentice in a small hardware store can make a difference in a city full of heroes.
