The new Disney+ series based upon Jack Kirby and Stan Lee’s character’s chronicling a US Marine with dissociative identity disorder has a lot going on. And Episode 6 of Moon Knight will be a big one, according to writer Jeremy Slater. Moreover, the man dropped a bomb on Twitter the other day that we will be unpacking for you further down this post. You’ll also want to check out our Episode 5 recap we left you. But reader beware as there are spoilers there!
After you read our article, you’re not going to want to wait until Disney+ drops the sixth episode of this Marvel Studios show. The comments the head writer made on Twitter made everyone get really hyped about it. Moreover, on episode four we saw how Layla and Steven Grant tried to get into the tomb of Ammit. But from there, the writer picked things up. Let’s check out what he had to say!
What Happened In Previous Episodes?
After battling Harrow’s thugs, the villain shoots him, allowing him to claim Ammit’s ushabti (old Egyptian figurine). We see Dr. Steven Grant going Indiana Jones mode, as Marc slips into darkness. Marc saw this movie as a kid, and it’s likely that it inspired his delightful alter ego.
Marc is found in a mental facility populated by characters from the program who have taken on positions as patients and personnel —with Steven’s cruel museum employer as a patient, the human sculpture guy as the game host, and Harrow’s police goons as orderlies. Cupcakes, a furry scarab, a Moon Knight figurine, and a painting of a charming European town are among the Easter eggs hidden throughout this place. But this is all to create hype and context to what Jeremy Slater put out next in that bombshell tweet.
Episode 6 Of Moon Knight Will Be A Big One According To Jeremy Slater
On Tuesday, Jeremy Slater, the lead writer of Moon Knight and the creator of the Disney+ series, revealed that episode five will be the “big one” of the first season on Twitter. In addition to applauding Becky Kirsch, the episode’s writer, the writer foreshadowed significant answers and shocks. Slater’s remarks follow the theme of Moon Knight’s creatives hyping up the season’s last two episodes.
Director Aaron Moorhead just indicated that the following two weeks will be filled with big shocks. Maybe, or maybe not these guys are just hyping us to give us a surprise. After all, the next-to-last episode in big production tends to be a big one —remember those huge shockers that David Benioff gave us before he wrecked Game of Thrones to the ground?— perhaps. Just perhaps, the team behind Moon Knight wants to follow suit here with that next-to-last tradition.
A new #MoonKnight drops at midnight, and it's the big one. Questions will be answered. Secrets will be revealed. Hippos will be disobeyed.
My pal @BeckyKirsch (THE EXORCIST) is one of the best writers I know, and she knocked this one out of the park. It's time to get weird.

Episode 5 Recap With Spoilers
Spector begins to switch between two worlds, arguing with the therapist “Dr. Harrow” and engaging with Grant and the hippotamus-headed woman, whom Grant recognizes as the Egyptian goddess Taweret. She says that Spector and Grant are no longer alive and that the “hospital” is a boat traveling through the Egyptian underworld, the Duat. Taweret starts weighing Spector and Grant’s hearts on the Scales of Justice to see if they’ll be able to reach the Field of Reeds (the Egyptian afterlife’s paradise), but they’re “incomplete.” She tells them to work together to unearth any hidden memories causing the imbalance.
After seeing a memory of a young Spector and his younger brother Randall trapped in a flooding cave on Khonshu’s orders, Grant sees a memory of a young Spector and his younger brother Randall drowning and Spector’s mother blaming him for his brother’s death. Before Taweret informs them that many souls from the living world are being judged and sent to the afterlife before their time, Spector shows Grant how he became Khonshu’s avatar.
Taweret Provides Assistance
Taweret agrees to help Spector and Grant return to the living world to stop Harrow, and she directs the boat towards the Gates of Osiris. “Dr. Harrow” persuades Spector to open up to Grant fully, and Spector hesitantly admits that he unwittingly conceived Grant due to their mother’s abuse and the fact that their mother is dead. Grant and Spector come to peace with each other, but their scales remain unbalanced, causing malevolent spirits to assault the boat. Grant slips overboard and is eaten by the Duat as they fight off the ghosts. The Scales are then balanced, and Spector is sent to the Field of Reeds.
