Eminence In Shadow Season 2 Ending Explained
Shadow Season 2 Episode 12 is titled The Highest, and it continues where the previous episode left off, with Mordred calling forth the Archfiend Ragnarok and turning on Black Rose to start the banquet of slaughter for the Kingdom of Oriana.
A report reaches Alpha stating that Oriana’s Black Rose has been awakened. Eta recommends sending a ship, but Alpha responds that if Shadow is there, everything will be alright. Mordred discovers the Shadow Garden, which lets Rose get away. While Beta and Epsilon cope with Mordred, Shadow confronts Ragnarok.
When Mordred draws the invisible blade—an antiquated elven relic that summons an invisible sword—Beta and Epsilon make fun of him instead. Beta and Epsilon use a mystical energy blade to start the battle—an artifact Mordred was unaware of.
Rose meets Margaret in the interim and requests that she open the cellar beneath the garden so that the occupants might seek safety. Rose wants to lead the knights into town and rouse them.
While Shadow is still fighting Ragnarok, Beta and Epsilon defeat Mordred, regarding the Black Rose, the supernatural creatures, and the cult, they face Mordred. Mordred was apprehensive at first, but he ultimately allowed himself to believe that Ragnarok would vanquish the Shadow Garden.
Mordred believes it to be a god, even though no one knows what or who is in the core, implying he could not see it. Still, considering all the worlds that revolve around it, the center itself is hardly the issue at hand.
The worlds continue their paths around and around for months and years, occasionally colliding. The disparate worlds unite when they do. For example, exactly 10 million years ago, a drastic shift in the world’s ecosystem caused the decline of dragons.
The magic that flowed from one realm to another was too much for them to adjust to, and those who could start to thrive in the dragons’ place. Furthermore, Mordred discloses that the demon Diablos was undoubtedly a creation of their universe and did not originate from a different dimension.
The creature who served as the model for the demon Diablos, though, was not the original since it came from a region called the First region. He taught them many things, the Black Rose among them. It turns out that the Black Rose is a man-made portal to an alternate reality.
By coincidence, the Oriana Kingdom had opened that gate once, but magical creatures kept spilling out of it, consuming any humans coming in their path. Eventually, they closed the gate to save themselves.
Mordred was furious when Shadow suddenly and easily destroyed Ragnarok. Subsequently, the Shadow Garden dispersed teams to keep an eye on the Rose, evaluate the extent of the surrounding territories’ destruction, and inquire about the rebel troops.
Mordred changes into a demon to stop Shadow. When Mordred’s demonic metamorphosis is finally defeated, Shadow declares that he is atomic before blowing him up. However, Akane was apprehended after spending the nighttime hours wandering the streets.
