The regional editions of RuPaul’s Drag Race are rapidly gaining worldwide popularity, each making a splash wherever it lands. It’s Germany’s time to shine as they present their finest drag race contenders in the tried and true format that has made the show enormously successful.
Its format is simple: a dozen German or Austrian dudes showcasing their makeup artistry, singing talents, and runway skills. The ultimate goal? Massive prize money, a coveted spot in the RuPaul Hall of Fame, and the chance to be featured on an international stage like All-Stars.
The debut episode of the series kicked off without much fuss and no eliminations, as you’ll read in our recap; we also include in this scoop for you the episode guide and a streaming guide in case you need the coordinates to the show because you’re new to it and you’re catching up. Without any further ado, let’s begin with what went down on the debut episode of Drag Race Germany.
Drag Race Germany Episode 1 Recap
The debut episode of Drag Race Germany introduced us to eleven new contestants; they were tasked with a small challenge of dressing up as a princess from Bavaria, with Pandora Nox winning that segment with a 1,000 euro cash prize.
Then, we had the typical runway drag walks with their best “Signature Look.” LéLé Cocoon, Pandora Nox, and Barbie Q got the best reviews from that segment, with Tessa Testicle, Victoria Shakespeare, and Nikita Vegas getting the worst reviews.
Then, the lip-sync segment of the show went to Victoria Shakespeare and Tessa Testicle singing Shirin David’s “Lieben wir.” Since both did well, they didn’t get eliminated. This is the first episode of the season, and no one was cut; still, Tessa and Victoria must watch out for the next episodes.
