Time for the penultimate episode! Death and Other Details opens the floodgates of the story by exposing the identify of Viktor Sams and dropping another shocking bombshell: VS and Kira Scott are the same person. Now, this is the storyline surprise I didn’t anticipate, but “Impossible” is still a really good episode all around.
The plot moves at a steady pace with thrilling and high stakes. My hope was that Hilde was either Kira’s long-lost sister or some kind of related.
Given that Kira is still alive, it appears that Imogene’s first alliance with Rufus was intended to set her up to succeed him. to demonstrate that she was living her life on autopilot and hadn’t been paying attention. “Impossible” serves as a clear reminder of Tripp’s status as the best lad.
Recap
We begin with Christian Svensson’s character Andreas and Viktor Sams’s group telling everyone in the dining room what would happen next. They’ve all been extremely evil wealthy individuals. VS does not support the one percent.
Although Llewellyn Mathers, Katherine Collier, Alexandra Hochenberg, Keith Trubitsky, and others paid the ultimate price, it is insufficient. That means in an hour the SS Varuna, which is now rigged with explosives, will blow up.
Despite being 70 meters from the coast, they have little hope of surviving this sinking ship because there are no lifeboats available. Unless… The group is instructed by Andreas to bid for a spot on the helicopter. There are nine available places right now.
The highest bidder, of course, comes out on top. He gives the order for everyone to convene in Suite 218. Next, we witness Hilde (Linda Emond) and Rufus (Mandy Patinkin) being escorted off the cruise ship. Violett Beane’s character Imogene objects to this and asks to know where Viktor intends to take them.
It seems that VS doesn’t hurt innocent people. Additionally, we see a boat carrying That Derek (Sincere Wilbert), Winnie (Annie Q. Riegel), and Celia Chun’s great-grandchildren sailing away from the SS Varuna. This development does not sit well with Father Toby (Danny Johnson) and Teddy (Angela Zhou).
We get a flashback of Sunil (Rahul Kohli) and Jules (Hugo Diego Garcia) discovering the explosives close to the lifeboat location during Andreas’s speech. Sunil tells Jules to hide in the same cabinet where Leila was a few episodes back after hearing footsteps. Viktor Sams’s squad then bursts through the door.
They cause Sunil to lose consciousness. Tripp (Jack Cutmore-Scott) later asks Anna (Lauren Patten) what their beginning bid is for those coveted helicopter seats after the clock has been running for an hour.
Leila, Lawrence, Imogene, and they just require five of the nine to be sold. But Anna is ready to give up and pass away. Tripp convinces her to represent them in negotiations. She has this gift.
