Death and Other Details’ penultimate episode saw Imogene finally identify Viktor Sams, and it was discovered that Hilde Ericsson, the Interpol agent, had been the real culprit all along. Hilde wasn’t even Hilde’s true name, though; she was actually Kira Scott, Imogene’s mother, who staged her own death and fled.
After the Colliers had attempted to kill her, she simply came back to get revenge. Will Imogene and her mother be reunited when she eventually gets her mother back, or will Imogene find it difficult to forgive her for traumatizing and pretending to be dead as a child?
Recap
Episode 9’s very final scene featured a blast on the ship, raising the possibility that some of the passengers may have perished or been gravely hurt, but Kira resisted the urge to kill them. In episode 10, she requested that her daughter Imogene leave the ship by boat, telling her that a ferry would be heading toward the ship to rescue the other passengers.
The server farm on the ship, which housed all of the data pertaining to Viktor Sams’s operations, was the location of the bomb detonation. The goal of the explosion was to eliminate every server, removing any potential proof against Viktor Sams.
Following Imogene and her mother’s departure, they spoke about Kira’s difficult decisions. She explained to her kid that although the Colliers didn’t actually kill her, they did try. Kira had been targeted by an assassin sent by Lawrence, but she had escaped and murdered him.
She wanted to leave the area and take her daughter with her, but she was already a member of Andreas’ gang at the time. Andreas requested that Kira not take the child, believing it would be a mistake for her to raise her under such dangerous conditions.
Additionally, Andreas instructed Kira to stage her own demise, but to make sure that she had left behind DNA samples at the location. Kira bid her daughter farewell for the last time, gritting her teeth as she exited the vehicle after Imogene got out.
She fled the vehicle out of Imogene’s line of sight and entered a pickup that Andreas had ordered. Imogene believed she had lost her mother as the car burst apart in front of her eyes.
Imogene was shocked to learn that her mother, for whom she had been battling, had forced her to witness her own death, leaving her permanently traumatized. However, Kira didn’t feel sorry for it because she thought that by taking this route, she might exact revenge on the wealthy.
