In a shocking turn of events, Dan Aykroyd and his wife Donna Dixon are parting ways after 39 years of marriage! The pair have issued a joint statement stating that while they are now on separate life paths, they will remain legally married, co-parents, co-workers, and business partners. The statement concluded as the pair said that this is their choice in loving friendship.
Aykroyd and Dixon tied the knot back in 1983 after crossing paths that year on the set of the comedy film Doctor Detroit. The pair went on to star in several movies together including Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983), Exit To Eden, Spies Like Us (1985), and The Couch Trip (1988). The pair share three daughters.

In an earlier interview in 2004, the Ghostbusters star opened up about their relationship saying that Dixon is a Southern woman who is understanding and doesn’t mind dealing with the boys from time to time. Dan calls her the White Goddess and considers himself the Green Demon! The Emmy Award-winner explained how if you got to find the right person, one needs to look them in the eye, have them look back, and know their soul.
The actor had an iconic reunion as the popular trio of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson attended the Ghostbusters: Afterlife premiere. Dan also wrote the first two Ghostbusters movies and earlier this year paid his heartfelt tribute to Ivan Reitman. Dan Aykroyd was one of the creative forces behind the blockbuster 1980s supernatural comedy that became a classic cult.
