Criminal Record for Apple TV tracks two rather different investigators as they work to solve the same murder case. This Paul Rutman program, starring the Academy Award-winning Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo (The Good Wife), is expected to be a fantastic addition to the platform’s crime show lineup.
The plot of Criminal Record opens in modern-day London, where there is a high rate of crime and innocent individuals frequently become victims of things they are not a part of. Daniel Hegarty, the Chief Inspector of Detectives, is well-liked in his workplace and has enough experience to identify the guilty party in a typical criminal case.
While June Lenker lacks Hegarty’s ten years of expertise, she still possesses the drive and originality to tackle any challenging case that comes her way. When they get a weird call that forces them to collaborate on the same case, these two detectives just so happen to cross paths.
Recap
As June pursues her investigation, she looks into possible officers who might have ties to the far-right organization Combat League. She thinks Daniel and his friends, The Sixty-Twos, might be involved with this contentious organization. During their interview, June shows Clive pictures of The Sixty-Twos group. Tony Gilfoyle is recognized by Clive, who affirms that he is a Combat League member.
Following this startling confirmation, June sees Tony and approaches him outside his house. Calling June a bully in retaliation, Tony disputes any connection to the political party. But once she leaves, Tony is terrified and starts to worry. He calls Kim to deliver the unwelcome news that June is aware of them.
That day, June’s team achieves additional triumphs. June and Sonya are shown pictures by a photographer of Daniel entering and exiting a popular drug den. He clarifies that Miras Mansur, a heroin dealer, is the company’s owner. Daniel appears to be a frequent visitor there.
