Bandai Namco Entertainment America has revealed new details about the upcoming CODE VEIN II: Mask of Idris DLC, which is scheduled to launch on September 9, 2026. Director Hiroshi Yoshimura and Producer Keita Iizuka discuss the expansion and its accompanying free Ver. 2.0 update in a newly released developer message, which also includes fresh gameplay footage.
The Mask of Idris expansion takes players into the Forsaken World, a realm created from histories erased after changes to the past. As the Temporal Rift continues to expand, the protagonist encounters Liv Voda, Valentin’s sister and the original guardian of the Rift. She considers the protagonist an outsider who has interfered with a world where they do not belong.
Mask of Idris Adds a New Story and Characters
The expansion also introduces another version of Lou, whose own tragic history gradually comes to light as players progress through the new storyline. The Forsaken World is designed to expand the game’s narrative while introducing new encounters, weapons, and challenges.
Alongside the DLC, free Ver. 2.0 update adds substantial post-game content. The Age of Harmony allows players to travel with their partners while experiencing new individual episodes, giving the characters additional stories beyond the main campaign.

The update also introduces Trials of Remembrance, featuring consecutive boss rematches and rewards that include more than 90 new character customization parts. Players can additionally summon Jadwiga as a partner, while a new story-focused mode and Legacy character shader provide further customization inspired by the anime-like visual style of the original CODE VEIN.
CODE VEIN II: Mask of Idris launches September 9, 2026. The expansion is included with the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions and is also available separately. CODE VEIN II is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
