What more can be said about Chicago Fire’s fourth episode of season 12? Next week, it makes its NBC debut. First and foremost, we must acknowledge that this story’s title, “The Little Things,” is a direct reference to the ABC series A Million Little Things.
(Why had it to end like that? We long for it.) Let’s just say that Stella Kidd might have one of the most moving stories of the season, and Firehouse 51 will soon be facing some new challenges.
What is the duration of Julia’s stay here?
We find that intriguing for the simple reason that she is the embodiment of personal development in this world. When it comes to Boden’s stepson, we frequently think of this as just another chance to gain some more outsider perspective on him.
Yes, we already know a great deal, but it appears that a lot of effort is being made to provide you with a range of character-focused spotlights, particularly in season 12. Isn’t it difficult to be upset about that?
Recap
Now at home, Herrmann is examining his hearing aids in the mirror. Cindy reassures him that no one will notice them, much less consider him. He feels senile. Others become concerned when Boden and Stella welcome Derrick Gibson to Firehouse 51.
Cruz has been approved to take the test for lieutenant at the end of the month. Boden claims he has the right to choose his own path. Cruz appears uncertain. When Herrmann gets to the guys who are pulling his leg over his hearing, he thanks Ritter right away for making him feel better. Most likely, he saved his life.
A girl asks for assistance by mouthing the words while Violet is making fun of Sylvie for her bachelorette party. Violet and Sylvie take off after the car, sensing she’s in trouble. Documents arrive in a package for Severide overnight. Ritter had no idea that was still done by people.
Gibson is played around by the guys, but he doesn’t give in. He hears Sylvie and Violet yelling about being pursued. Boden makes a backup police call. They’ve been spotted at a light. The entire firehouse is listening in as they discuss it. The man backs off and leaves. It’s finished.
Boden, Sylvie, and Violet discuss what they observed with Detective McDaniel. Boden permits the girls to conduct additional research despite their lack of faith, but they are still responsible for their duties.
Stella is curious about the outcome of Cruz and Severide’s exchange. Stella believes Kelly respected Cruz by letting him make his own decisions, even though Cruz felt like she was showing him the way out. When she finds Kelly going through the paperwork, she must be angry about something having to do with arson.
Carver asks Violet what transpired, but Mouch cuts her off with some Gibson-related news. Gibson was at Firehouse 32 when a bar of soap vanished. There’s no denying that the guy needs drama.
When Van Metre pays him a visit, Severide asks whether he added his name back to the list.
Van Metre is so moved by Kelly’s passion and talent that he doesn’t want it to go to waste, even though Kelly isn’t impressed and doesn’t want to feel pressed. Boden informs Herrmann that he threw himself on a bomb and isn’t wearing hearing aids because he is elderly.
Herrmann questions Gibson’s suitability for 51. Boden doesn’t believe it to be that easy. They must observe what the firehouse extracts from them and what they bring to it.
