He is famous for songs like “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay,” “Respect,” and “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long.” Sadly, Redding died at the young age of 26 in a plane crash in 1967. He left behind his wife Zelma and their three children.
The film will focus on the ten years that Otis and Zelma spent together and how their love story influenced his music. The movie has the support of the Otis Redding Estate and Zelma. It will also show how determined Zelma has been to keep her husband’s legacy alive.
The film’s summary says, “Zelma’s resilience and determination to preserve his musical legacy for the last 56 years fuels her, just as much as Otis’ love for Zelma fueled him.”
