CD Projekt Red has publicly thanked thousands of fans who attended the exclusive Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 premiere at Anime Expo 2026 after the first episode remained free of major leaks online.

The special screening, held at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena during Anime Expo, gave approximately 6,000 attendees an early look at Studio Trigger’s highly anticipated sequel to the hit 2022 anime. Despite the episode being shown to such a large audience, fans largely respected the organizers’ request not to record footage or reveal major story details.

CD Projekt Red applauds fans for avoiding spoilers

Following the premiere, CD Projekt Red executives took to social media to thank attendees for helping preserve the viewing experience ahead of the show’s official release.

Satoru Homma, CD Projekt Red’s Associate Country Director for Japan, wrote on X:

“So far, the first episode streamed at Anime Expo hasn’t leaked. Thank you so much for keeping your promise properly.”

Global PR Director Radek Grabowski shared a similar message, thanking attendees for respecting the studio’s request.

“We really appreciate everyone’s understanding and for helping us keep the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 episode one screening at Anime Expo spoiler-free by not recording any footage. Let’s all experience it and the rest of the season together when the show launches this fall!”

Keeping advance screenings spoiler-free has become increasingly difficult in today’s entertainment industry, making the Anime Expo audience’s cooperation particularly noteworthy.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners became a global success following its Netflix debut in 2022, earning widespread praise for its emotional story and helping reignite interest in Cyberpunk 2077. With excitement surrounding the sequel already high, leaked footage from the premiere would likely have spread rapidly across social media.

Instead, fans largely chose to protect the experience for those waiting for the official release.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is scheduled to premiere on Netflix this fall, with Studio Trigger once again collaborating with CD Projekt Red to expand the Cyberpunk universe.
