Phantom Blade Zero has established itself as one of 2026’s biggest gaming successes, generating an estimated $223 million in revenue within five days of its release. More notably, the Chinese-developed action RPG has earned $123 million from markets outside China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, selling approximately 2 million copies in those regions.
The figures come from market research firm Alinea Analytics, which estimates that the game sold 4.3 million copies across Steam and PlayStation during its initial five-day period. The international performance accounts for approximately 55% of its estimated revenue, demonstrating that the game’s appeal extends well beyond its home market.
The achievement is particularly significant for S-GAME, as Phantom Blade Zero has managed to attract a substantial international audience despite drawing heavily from Chinese martial arts, mythology, and cultural influences.
Phantom Blade Zero Generates $123 Million Outside China in Five Days
According to Alinea Analytics’ sales report, markets outside China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan contributed approximately $123 million through 2 million copies sold. Meanwhile, those three Asian markets collectively accounted for 55% of the game’s estimated unit sales but only 45% of its revenue.
The difference largely comes from regional pricing. Although the standard edition carries a $59.99 price tag in the United States, its equivalent price is approximately $40.31 in China and $41.80 in Hong Kong. This means that higher sales volumes in the domestic market do not necessarily translate into a proportionally higher revenue contribution.
Alinea Analytics estimates that China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan generated 47% of Steam revenue and 40% of PlayStation revenue. Consequently, international markets have become the larger revenue contributor despite accounting for a smaller share of total purchases.
The report also places Phantom Blade Zero among 2026’s top 10 new premium games by estimated revenue across Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation. This is particularly noteworthy because the game has not received an Xbox release.

Positive Reviews Help Phantom Blade Zero Attract Western Players
While Chinese players showed considerable interest in Phantom Blade Zero before its release, international audiences took longer to contribute significantly to its sales. Alinea Analytics’ regional revenue estimates reveal how that changed following the game’s promotional campaign and critical reception.
When Steam preorders became available in mid-August, China accounted for nearly 70% of the game’s daily Steam revenue. Its share remained around 68% throughout much of August, reflecting the strong initial interest from its home market.
The August 18 PlayStation State of Play presentation also helped expand interest internationally. Following the showcase, daily US revenue increased from approximately $72,000 to $146,000, while revenue from the rest of the world more than doubled.
However, the biggest change arrived shortly before launch when reviews began appearing.
US daily revenue climbed from $106,000 on October 25 to $230,000 on October 26, when the review embargo lifted. It then increased to $463,000 on October 27 before reaching $899,000 on October 28. That represents an approximately 8.5-fold increase in just four days.
The game’s positive reviews and subsequent word of mouth helped bring in more players outside China. By its October 29 launch, the combined US and rest-of-world revenue had surpassed China’s contribution for the first time during its preorder period.
The shift continued after launch. China’s estimated lifetime revenue share declined from 68% in August to 45% by November 2. Meanwhile, the US share increased from 10% to 18%, while the rest of the world climbed from 25% to 38%.
Importantly, this does not mean Chinese sales declined. Instead, international markets began contributing much more significantly as the game reached a wider audience.
S-GAME’s Action RPG Sells 4 Million Copies Within 72 Hours
The international revenue figures follow an impressive sales announcement from the developer. On November 2, S-GAME confirmed through its official X account that Phantom Blade Zero had sold more than 4 million copies within 72 hours of launch.
The developer thanked players for their support, marking an important milestone for its new intellectual property.
Alinea Analytics subsequently estimated 4.3 million copies sold across Steam and PlayStation, including approximately 3.1 million Steam copies and 1.2 million PlayStation copies. Its estimated $223 million revenue further establishes the game among the year’s strongest premium releases.
Developed by Chinese studio S-GAME, Phantom Blade Zero follows Soul, an assassin framed for murdering his master. After receiving a fatal injury, he discovers that he has only 66 days left to live and must uncover the conspiracy surrounding his master’s death.
The game combines traditional Wuxia influences with fast-paced martial arts combat, dark fantasy environments, and steampunk elements. Its international performance suggests that these distinctly Chinese influences have found an audience across multiple gaming markets.
With 2 million estimated copies sold outside China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, Phantom Blade Zero has demonstrated that its commercial appeal is not limited to its domestic audience. Its strong reviews, international reception, and rapid sales growth have made it one of 2026’s most notable gaming launches.
