Tim and Fuzz will be returning with a new episode of Car SOS this week and things are about to get emotional as they’ll be restoring the car of a special person. The pair will be traveling to Dorset in Southwest England and the episode will also be featuring a popular motorsports racing driver as a guest.
Airing on television since 7th February 2013, Car SOS is an automotive television show that follows Tim Shaw and Fuzz Townshend as they go around restoring cars from all over the country. The British show is directed by Stephen Taylor Woodrow and narrations are provided by Phil Cornwell. Over the years, Car SOS has managed to create a big fan base, and it comes out with new seasons each year, with the latest 11th season being aired since 9th March 2023.
Both Tim and Fizz are petrolheads that know just the right way to fix an old car and restore it to the way it originally was, if not, even better than before. Tim Shaw is a British TV presenter, who originally had a mechanical engineering background. Fuzz Townshend on the other hand is a drummer, that owns a team of car restoration experts that work behind the scenes to ensure proper modification of all cars.
Car SOS Season 11 Episode 5: Recap
Each episode usually begins with Fuzz and Tim heading over to the location they’ll be picking the car up from. Most of the time, the restoration requests are made by friends and family members of the owner, to surprise them or honor the one thing that they love the most. After reviewing the modifications needed, the car is sent off to Fuzz’s car workshop, where work on the car is started as soon as possible.
After the car has been restored, Tim and Fuzz pick it up and plan a surprise for the owner after discussing it with the family members. None of the owners are usually aware of what’s happening to their car, but an exception was made when the duo was assigned the task to restore a 1962 Austin Healey Sebring Sprite, which had been used by infamous racers like Sir Stirling Moss.
In the previous episode, titled “Riley RMF,” the pair travel to Rochdale to pick up an unusual family heirloom. The special 1953 Riley RMF has been in the same family for almost 70 years. In the present times, this car remains a rare British post-war classic with only a few of its kind left in the world. As rare as it was, the family members had gotten emotionally attached to it and wanted to bring back its original elegance.
The car was now owned by Richard, who tried everything he could to get it to work normally once again, but with no fruits to his efforts, Richard had to call in the experts of classic car restorations After analyzing the car, Tim and Fuzz inform the owner of much more serious problems that need to be fixed first. Episode 5 also featured an appearance by Edd China.
