Palki Malhotra’s Campus Beats has supposedly come to an end after three dramatic seasons, but there are more questions than answers after the final episode. With Netra and Ishaan’s relationship becoming that of enemies, it’s hard to believe that the show would leave its fans with such a heartbreaking ending.
Campus Beats, produced for Amazon miniTV, is a romance drama airing since September 2023 that centers on Netra, an aspiring dancer who joins a college named MAD to advance in her career while also finding out about her dad’s murder that somehow seems to be connected to the very same college.
The 3rd season began with Netra avoiding Ishaan after he confessed his feelings for her and ended with Ishaan kicking Netra out of MAD. While this season has certainly brought more about Mr. Lokhande’s death to light, it has left us wanting closure, especially concerning Netra and Ishaan’s relationship.
Most of the cast from the older seasons of Campus Beats came back for the 3rd season, including Shantanu Maheshwari in the role of Ishaan, Shruti Sinha as Netra, Tanvi Gadkari in the role of Rihanna, Sahaj Singh Chahal in the role of Neel and Harsh Dingwani as Malang.
Campus Beats Season 3: What Happens In The Final Episode?
The final episode starts with Netra getting Ri arrested, and the news soon spreads like fire throughout the campus, with some students even mocking Ri for what happened. Ishaan confronts Netra and is mad at her for not giving him sufficient time to find out the real culprit. Netra had already made up her mind that Ri was the killer since all of the evidence was pointing toward her.
A little push from Ravjeet’s minions was enough for her to go ahead with the arrest. Shantanu wanted her to believe him and trust him enough to let him search, but Netra was too focused on getting her dad’s murderer arrested without even checking if Ri was really the one behind it.
Ri’s at the jail, and the rest of the OG gang is devastated to see her like this. Netra’s glad to give her dad justice, but the celebration doesn’t last long as Ishaan uses his ties with the higher-ups to bail Rihanna out. In exchange for the bail, Ishaan has to talk to his father despite his reluctance to maintain a relationship with him.
Ri comes back to MAD, and the group organizes a return party for her. The wholesome party is ruined when Ri’s mother suddenly interrupts and starts spewing hateful words towards Ri. She makes her feel unwanted in the worst way possible while claiming Neel is her only perfect child.
That’s when Neel finally comes out of the closet and reveals that he is into men. Ri’s mother is shocked but continues to stand her ground against Ri. Neel takes her out, and Ishaan tries to console Ri. She cries her heart out and confesses her feelings for Ishaan.
Campus Beats Season 3: Ending Explained
Following this heartbreaking series of events, we see what went down on the night of Mr. Lokhande’s murder. Ravjeet had asked Ri to run an errand for him, which involved giving a mobile phone to Lokhande. Ri wasn’t aware that Ravjeet had packed drugs in the box and was going to frame her for substance abuse.
Lokhande leaves the area, so Rihanna goes behind him to complete the delivery. When she reaches there, Lokhande tries to arrest her for possessing drugs, and Ri pushes him away and tries to run. Lokhande falls on his back and hits his head.
Ri notices that he’s still breathing, so she tries to call an ambulance, but Ravjeet stops her and tells her to leave. A while later, Ravjeet arrives and kills Lokhande but leaves without a trace.
This shows that Ri was just Ravjeet’s pawn in whatever happened, and although she wasn’t innocent, she was not the one to take Lokhande’s life. Ravjeet rejoices as the blame has now shifted to Ri instead of him.
At MAD, Netra shows up for the classes and is stopped by the rest of the students, including Ishaan. They ask her to leave as what she had done was the worst thing that could’ve happened to Ri. Her image, her career, and her life were now ruined.
Netra tries to get in, but Ishaan finally pushes her out of MAD, and they both declare a “war” on each other. Netra hated the way Ishaan didn’t take her side, but she should’ve given him the time he so desperately asked her for. Now, it’s possible that Ishaan would instead start a romantic relationship with Ri after the confession.
The episode ends without a conclusion since neither Ishaan’s nor Netra’s relationship had closure, nor did Lokhande’s real killers get arrested. Neel and Malang’s relationship was left without a proper ending, too.
This leaves space for a new season that would answer all of these questions about Netra and her dad. The producers have claimed that season 3 of Campus Beats was going to be the last season, but seeing the way it ended, we might see the show return sometime in the future.
For now, all seasons of Campus Beats are available to stream on Amazon miniTV and Prime Video.
