The release date of the upcoming Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Episode 17 is right around the corner, and after one of the most important and entertaining episodes of the season, fans are super excited to get their hands on the upcoming episodes. Today, in addition to the release date of the upcoming Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Episode 17, we are also going to reveal what actually made the last released episode of the franchise so special and why everyone is talking about it.
Along with all the spoilers and a reading guide for the next installment. It is going to be quite hard to talk about because there were so many anime-exclusive scenes in the episode. We had seen that fans were highly anticipating along with the moments that we didn’t even know that we wanted, which Kubo and the animation staff have delivered to us with an exceptional level of care and detail.
Episode 16th is titled “The Fundamental Virulence”, and it takes after the title of Chapter 552 of the manga. This week’s episode covers material from chapters 552 to 554 of the manga, which adapts a total of three chapters of the manga material.
Now, this should be ringing some alarm bells for you; a lot of the runtime of this episode has been padded out with anime-exclusive material. This episode features several anime-exclusive scenes involving new fights scenes with Isagi and Yumichika, as well as the highly anticipated Bankai reveal of Shinjihirako, and last but not least, another mysterious post-credit scene where we catch up with Ichigo in that strange realm where we had learned more about, last week.
Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Episode 16: Recap and Review
When the episode opens up, we see that there are multiple lieutenants fighting against the Quincys. It is absolutely insane for me how characters from lieutenants tear are struggling against the NPCs of the story, but I think that it goes a long way toward establishing how much of a thread this arc is going to be.
We also get a small recap of the scene of Hitsugaya getting defeated by Bazz-B because, for reasons that were completely unknown to me, we just had to see our little captain get wrecked again.
With this, we get cut back to Hisagi, where we see that he is running away from what appears to be the enemies who are chasing him. I cannot stress how crazy it is that characters who have fought against the Arrancar and defeated than are now struggling with Foot Soldiers, even after growing significantly stronger from that time in the Arrancar Arc.
This is the perfect showcase of how there is a jumping power level between the Quicy’s Army and the Arrancar Army. We then cut back to Bazz-B, getting interrupted by Cang Du, who insists that he be the one to finish off Hitsugaya. After Cang Du takes over, he activates Hitsugaya’s Bankai, which looks absolutely amazing.
The lighting, combined with the visual effects of ice particles, which are flowing off of the wings of his Bankai, is just truly breathtaking. Now following this, we get some materials from the end of Chapter 551, which was also adapted into the end of the last week’s episode, and it is basically Urahara telling Mayuri that he has found a way to restore the stolen Bankai.
