Shosetsuka ni Naro, a novel publishing website, published this novel from September 2015 till January 2022. The anime adaptation is by Madhouse, an animation studio in Japan, and its premiere was in October 2022. Here’s how the story goes. Elianna Bernstein is the daughter of a baron, and hence, she comes from a family of nobles.
However, there is one particular trait that runs in her family. All of the members of her family, including herself, have been avid readers of books and are known to be great bibliophiles. Hence her name, the Bibliophile Princess. One day, the crown prince of the Sauslind Kingdom offers Elianna a strange proposal.
Christopher Selkirk asks her to be his wife in marriage because he wants a bride who is neutral in the political sense. Prince Christopher said that if Elianna agreed to his proposal, she would be free to read all the books in the royal archives, and her other royal duties would be limited, giving her all the time in the world to read. Disregarding her doubts, Elianna agrees to the offer as the lure of books is too strong for her to deny.
Elianna strongly believes that her marriage is fake and even feels that the prince loves someone else. She feels that her marriage might come to an end as she sees the prince with another woman, and this breaks her heart. Elianna starts falling in love with the prince of Sauslind Kingdom, and from there begins Elianna’s troubles.

The 10th episode is named “Intentions of the Butterflies.” Here’s what happened. Elianna feels sad when she thinks about Mireille, who is potentially going to be Christopher’s concubine. Also, she has to investigate the maid who stole her dress design and leaked it.
She goes to see Christopher but then turns back when she sees Mireille’s letter addressed to him. Then Elianna receives a visit from Sharon, who tells her impolitely that Sharon should be the one to attend the Holy Night Banquet with the prince as that would increase Mireille’s prospects of being Christopher’s concubine.
She also tells her that Mireille would be Christopher’s best choice as she can manage court duties well, while Elianna can continue to be useless and keep reading books. Elianna is worried that she is a burden and nuisance to the prince but is too afraid to ask him.
After she sees Alfred and Anna’s love, she is filled with despair and asks Christopher to put off the wedding. Elianna becomes even sadder when the prince agrees to her staying in her family home without a word of protest or any questions asked.
