Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode 6 serves as another laid-back Episode that pumps us at the very end as we are headed to the mid-season finale. The business has been booming for Jimmy, who has more clients than ever. Kim is worried about Salamanca’s possible return. But these issues were not distracting them from their main motive to take down Howard Hamlin.
This time around, even Howard seems to be prepared as well as he finds out that Jimmy is up to something. The question remains if Jimmy and Kim can turn around the whole Sandpiper case or not. Meanwhile, Lalo Salamanca comes one step closer to finding out about Gus’ lab in the sixth Episode of Better Call Saul Season 6. So let’s break the whole thing down.
Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode 6 Recap
Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode 6 opened up with a glimpse into Kim’s past. At the time, she was around 13-14 and accompanied her mother in a scam they were pulling off. Kim’s mother was proud she got away with it.
Cut to the present; we get a look into Howard’s life as he warns his wife about the possible scams Jimmy is into right now with an intention to defame Howard. Apart from that, Howard is keeping a keen eye on Jimmy’s day-to-day moves.
Meanwhile, Jimmy and Kim visited Caldera to craft a substance much similar to Cocaine which they plan to use against Howard. Caldera also comes to disclose that he is planning to leave the criminal life. He loves his life as a vet. He also loves his pets. While Jimmy believes it’s a crazy idea, Kim understands where he is coming from.
Later on in the episode, Cliff visits Kim asking how it was working with Howard. He also offers her a meeting with an organization like Jackson Mercer. She rushes to Jimmy, who is in the middle of a photoshoot where an actor is impersonating the Sandpiper judge Casamaro.

Kim is pretty excited about the meeting, and so is Jimmy. The only problem is that the meeting falls on the same day as their D-Day. Jimmy lets Kim know that she can skip the D-Day and join the meeting. The couple later celebrates the night before the big day.
Right the next day, while Kim leaves for the meeting, Jimmy finds himself looking for a celebratory drink. He ends up crossing paths with the real Casamaro. It turns out he has his hand fractured. In Jim’s fake photos, the actor impersonating him doesn’t.
Jim makes immediately calls Kim to let her know the big problem but also asks her to continue driving to the meeting. They can have their D-Day some other day. But Kim isn’t backing out and turns around, stating that it will happen today.
Amidst all of this, Gus’ lab work was going in full force. Meanwhile, Salamanca approached the demolition engineer of Gus’ lab, Kai, in a German forest to seek information on the lab. Lalo manages to take down Kai and is now hoping to make him talk.
Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode 6 Review
Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode 6 takes a backseat from all of the action. Much like the previous fifth episode with minor developments. Still, all of them were interesting and quite entertaining. We got an insight into Kim’s childhood on how she has been part of scams since that very time.
The young Kim saw herself questioning this way where she got away with what she did. The same question probably came circling around during the meeting with Caldera. She came to find out that he knew what he wanted. So Kim was probably more of a highlight this Episode, and we hope it’s not headed to what could be the end of her story. Especially with the fact that we don’t know her fate.
Apart from all of that, there was not much development in Lalo’s arc. He is just going from one person to another to seek information on Gus’ lab. On the other hand, Gus is making sure he is safe from Lalo. Mike, on the other hand, made sure nothing came between him and his granddaughter as he lowered some restrictions to observe her and his daughter-in-law.
So for most of the sixth Episode’s run, the show was not at all intense. A laid-back watch. The intensity picks up at the end of the Episode when Jimmy and Kim realize that their plan is met with a big complication. These closing moments perfectly built the tension for the coming mid-season finale of Better Call Saul Season 6.
