The Premise of Benim Adim Farah
Director, Recai Karagöz’s Benim Adim Farah (Demet Özdemir) is an adaptation of an Argentinian series named, “The Cleaning Lady.”
The narrative of Benim Adim Farah revolves around a 28-year-old mother, Farah, and her son, Karimshah. Farah, who is originally from Iran had to make a layover in Istanbul six years ago on her way from Iran to France when she learned about her pregnancy. So, now, Farah resides in Istanbul illegally.
Farah’s son is then born with a weak immune system, making him vulnerable to illness. Therefore, it is a must for him to reside in a sterile environment. On the other side, although Farah has a medical degree, she works illegally as a cleaner in Istanbul. She does the job to acquire some money for her son’s treatment in France. But life has other plans for her.
On a normal working day, Farah witnesses a murder which is committed by a mafia named, Tahir Lekesiz (Engin Akyürek). As her job is to clean, she cleans the crime scene as she does not want to get involved with the mafias. But, for their protection, Tahir is tasked with a mission by the mafia boss to kill Farah as she was an eyewitness to the crime. Things get out of hand when the victim of the murder is revealed as a police officer.
Therefore, with Farah trying to save her and her son’s life, and Tahir on a mission to kill Farah, the audience can already understand how interesting the Turkish drama is going to be. Apart from all these, the audience is excited to see the chemistry between Farah and Tahir, as they fall for each other amidst all the chaos.
