Beast’s Flower Chapter 17 Recap

The chapter starts with Viorst’s butler giving him his report of the journey. The butler tells Viorst as soon as he departed for the Valencia estate, his majesty set out and is currently residing in a small town on the northern frontier. Although he has not revealed anything in detail, a letter did arrive a few days ago stating he was preparing to return to the palace.

His Majesty told him that his reason for going up there was for the development of the land and its tourism industry. The king was the one, who sent Viorst to the Valence estate, yet he then freely went off on a trip to the north, and he traveled all that way in injured condition.

The butler also reported that the high priest had accompanied the king on his journey. Viorst got shocked hearing that, as the high priest had not left the imperial palace’s temple in decades under the excuse of wanting to be as close to god as possible. So Viorst was confused about why he changed his mind.

Later we see Cecil (Lyla’s nanny/maid) entering Lyla’s room to wake Lyla for breakfast, but when she gets in, she sees that Lyla is nowhere to be found. When she was going to report this to Viorst, she heard a sound coming from a wardrobe. That night Lyla was pissed about Cecil because she told her she would tolerate her smell and take care.

She thought Cecil would get fed up with her and starts to hate her. However, she was too tired, so she decided to sleep, but she thought the bed was too big for her, and only the bed but everything inside the palace. Lyla could not seem to calm herself down. So she took the pillow and slept inside the wardrobe, as Lyla thought she did not belong there.

Cecil woke Lyla up and told her to get dressed, as Viorst was waiting for her in the dining room for lunch. While they were having breakfast, Lyla was eating vulgarly, as no one had taught Lyla about manners. Viorst complimented her that she looked quite lovely.
