Gang war shows are always entertaining, and Prime Video’s Bambai Meri Jaan is yet another hit in the genre. Besides having an absorbing storyline, the cinematography, the cast, and everything else featured in Bambai Meri Jaan creates the perfect atmosphere for a retro-style series.
Although the series has been confirmed to not be based on any real-life gangs, Bambai Meri Jaan has similarities to some of the real-life gangs that have been seen in Mumbai. The storyline of this crime thriller centers on Ismail Kadri, a policeman in 1965 Bombay.
Despite being honest in his work, Ismail is eventually caught up in an unfortunate series of events that force him to give in to the dark side of Bombay gangs. Bambai Meri Jaan documents the rise of Dara, Haji, and Pathan’s gangs and their fight for ultimate control of the city.
The roles played by the cast of Bambai Meri Jaan are Kay Kay Menon as Ismail Kadri, Avinash Tiwary plays Dara Kadri, his son, Kritika Kamra stars in the role of Habiba, Dara’s younger sister, and Saurabh Sachdeva as Haji Maqbool.
Bambai Meri Jaan: What Happens In The Final Episode?
Bambai Meri Jaan’s final episode shows Chota Babban promising Dara and the others that he will get to Raiszada and kill him before he appears in court. Babban uses smart words to get their trust and is eventually tasked with this big responsibility.
Babban asks one of his roommates to help with the task, but this plan fails. Moreover, the police know Raiszada’s life is in danger, so they provide strong protection and keep him in a closed-off room. Chota informs Dara about this and then proceeds to make Raiszada’s assassination his own mission.
Raiszada would be surrounded by police while he is being transported to the court and Chota has to somehow manage to kill him within this period. He arrives at the court a day before Raiszada’s hearing and hides in the toilet. Babban manages to shoot Raiszada the next day and escape without harm.
Dara rewards him for his work. Back at the Kadri house, Dara’s mom is not well. After being diagnosed with a block in her heart, she has to be taken to the hospital, but Dara has an important job in Dubai that he cannot skip. Dara decides to leave his brother and sister with his parents, while he is off to the Gulf.
Pathan attacks Dara’s family at the hospital, and all of them barely manage to survive after an intense shootout. Dara returns and is glad to see that everyone’s safe. Chota, Dara, and Abdullah then head over to Pathan’s place to kill him.
An arrest warrant is released for Dara, so he decides to leave for Dubai with his family, but Ismail refuses and threatens him. In the end, Habiba is the only one to stay behind in Bombay, while Dara and the others are going to go in hiding in Dubai.
Bambai Meri Jaan: Ending Explained
The ending of Bambai Meri Jaan shows Dara being cornered by the police. He doesn’t want to run away, because, as his father Ismail says, if he runs now, he’ll be running forever. After hearing the arrest warrant news, Dara finally has no choice but to leave.
Dara has to make the ultimate sacrifice of being separated from his family and living alone for a while. Habiba knows that Ismail and Sakina need someone to take care of them, so she stays behind. However, that’s definitely not the only reason Habiba’s staying back.
As she says her goodbyes to her brother, Habiba sees the police cars arrive right after Dara’s car leaves. She doesn’t say anything to the police and now sits on the throne that was previously occupied by Dara. This hints towards a sequel where Habiba will not only be Dara’s younger sister, but also another powerful person in Bombay’s underground world.
Habiba claims that Haroon is still alive. The ending scenes take us to Gujarat, where Haroon orders tea and is ultimately killed. While Dara is leaving, he meets with Haji, who now calls him a King.
Coming back to the present, Habiba will now likely hold most of the power in the city, while Dara will stay on the low for some time. Whether it’s the Kadri blood or the upbringing that Habiba had, she is going to build her own empire from what her brother now leaves behind in Bombay.
We’ll hopefully get to see more of this stunning and entertaining Bombay crime thriller soon. At present, Bambai Meri Jaan is available to stream on Prime Video.
