Apple TV+ has quite a different mix of content coming for the month of April 2022, with lesser drama when it comes to its TV shows and Movies. The list we have goes from animated shows for kids to an anthology series. Then two new basketball documentaries that are way apart from each other. But still intriguing that may keep you hooked up on your seats.

TV Shows & Movies Coming To Apple TV+ In April 2022:
Pinecone And Pony: April 8
Coming from DreamWorks Animation and First Generation Films, Pinecone and Pony is the brand new animated kids show. It takes inspiration from the children’s book The Princess and the Pony by best-selling author Kate Beaton.
The official trailer of Pinecone and Pony showcases Pinecone looking forward to becoming the warrior she always wanted to be. As her Pony joins her on the adventures, they overcome any challenge that comes in front of them. The series will run for a total of 8 episodes.
Roar: April 15
Roar is a brand new anthology series with an ensemble cast. Each Episode visits a woman’s experience and how they cope with the perception of others about them as well as their own. The stories featured in the show are considered to be “darkly comic feminist fables.”
Roar takes inspiration from the 2018 short story collection of the same name by Cecelia Ahern. The ensemble cast we mentioned includes Nicole Kidman, Cynthia Erivo, Merritt Wever, Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, Meera Syal, Fivel Stewart, and Kara Hayward.
It’s the Small Things, Charlie Brown: April 15
A Peanuts special celebrating Earth Day. It’s the Small Things, Charlie Brown sees Charlie Brown and the team looking forward to an important baseball match. But Sally ends up making a friend on the baseball field who turns out to be a flower. Now she is here to protect the flower and won’t move anytime soon. However, it dooms the match but ends up teaching Charlie Brown and his team to make a positive impact on their environment.
They Call Me Magic: April 22
They Call Me Magic is a four-part documentary that tells the story of global sports icon Earvin Johnson. The documentary sees some of the most beautiful moments of his life. Right from changing the game of basketball to meeting the love of his life.
With success came some difficult times when Earvin had to face an HIV diagnosis and overcame the disease. From there on how he transitioned into a businessman, thus revolutionizing the way of business in America’s black communities. The documentary features intimate interviews with NBA Legend, his friends, family, and peers.

The Long Game: Bigger Than Basketball: April 22
The Long Game: Bigger Than Basketball is another basketball documentary featuring the rise of Makur Maker. The coming of age five-part series explores Makur, who hit global headlines for withholding NBA for Howard University. The series will explore his life as a student and athlete. Moreover, his journey from fleeing war-torn South Sudan as a child to where he is today.
Seth Gordon serves as an executive producer for The Long Game: Bigger Than Basketball along with Nikki Calabrese, Andrew Fried, Dane Lillegard, Sarina Roma, Jordan Wynn, Luis Lopez, and Julia Gunn, and Sony Pictures Television.
Shining Girls: April 29
Based on Lauren Beukes’ book of the same name, Shining Girls follows the story of Kirby Mazrachi, who is haunted by a brutal attack from years ago. The same event is now linked to a recent murder that sees Mazrachi teaming up with journalist Dan Velaquez to confront her past all over again. This show was made for Apple TV+.
Silka Luisa created Shining Girls with Elisabeth Moss in the lead role playing Kirby Mazrachi. Joining Moss is Wagner Moura, who plays the role of Dan Velaquez. The cast also includes Jamie Bell as Harper Curtis, Phillipa Soo as Jin-Sook, and Amy Brenneman as Rachel.
