After a break of almost three years, Police Chief Del Harris, played by Jeff Daniels, is back on duty in the second season of American Rust, titled “American Rust: Broken Justice.”
The first season introduced us to a small town in Pennsylvania filled with surprises. Season 1 was slow but intriguing, leaving fans eager for more. However, the show faced difficulties after it was canceled by Showtime.
Fans were upset, but their hopes were revived when Amazon picked up the show for a second season. Now, after two years, American Rust is returning with a new mystery for Del Harris to solve while he tries to show his commitment to the town.

American Rust: Broken Justice will premiere on Thursday, March 28th, 2024. It will be available exclusively on Prime Video. It’s not clear yet if all ten episodes will be released at once or weekly.
The show used to be on Showtime, but now it’s only on Prime Video. March is already packed with lots of new shows and movies on Prime Video, like a remake of Road House and the second half of Invincible Season 2.
The first trailer for American Rust: Broken Justice came out on March 4th after two years. It shows Del Harris, the main character, coming back to work after some tough times.
The District Attorney, Sue Herlitz, is trying to get rid of him because of his methods and connections. But Harris is focused on solving crimes in his town, including a tricky new case.
Cast of American Rust Broken Justice
Jeff Daniels, who won two Emmy Awards, plays Del Harris in American Rust Season 2. While he’s famous for comedic roles like in Dumb and Dumber, he’s also known for serious acting in shows like The Newsroom and Godless.
Many actors from Season 1 are returning for Season 2, including Maura Tierney from ER as Del Harris’ partner Grace Poe.
Other returning cast members include David Alvarez, Alex Neustaedter, Rob Yang, Mark Pellegrino, Julia Mayorga, Kyle Beltran, and more. There are also some new faces in the cast, like Luna Lauren Velez, Marc Menchaca, and Emily Davis.
