Over two years after the last episode, Alex Rider season 3 gets a confident update. Based on Anthony Horowitz’s novel series of the same name, Alex Rider begins when Otto Farrant’s character, the titular Alex Rider, is hired as a teenage spy by an MI6 division to enter areas that are off-limits to other people.
Guy Burt created Alex Rider for television, and the first season premiered on Prime Video. The second season was later moved to Amazon Freevee, a Prime Video affiliate. Regarding the recent reports of Amazon Freevee ceasing operations, there has been an update on Alex Rider season 3.
It’s stated that season 3 will launch on Prime Video even in the event that Freevee closes. “Have no fear, Season 3 will still see the light of day — presumably now on Prime Video,” TVLine wrote in response to a reader’s inquiry.
Everything We Know So Far
Season 3 filming started in October 2022, with additional production taking place in Croatia. According to some reports, filming was done in Gloucester, Malta, and Cardiff Bay Barrage. By early 2023, the third season was finished, and it had been more than a year since the season 2 binge release in December 2021.
In the dramatic Alex Rider season 2 finale, “Strike,” the lead character, who has become close to Sabina (Charithra Chandran), cooperates and returns the thumbprint he took for her protection.
In the end, Yassen (Thomas Levin) deceives the evil Damian (Toby Stephens). Alex is then told by Yassin to “find widow, find SCORPIA.” Yassen manages to get away, and Jack gets appointed as Alex’s legal guardian by MI6 as a token of appreciation.
Additionally, it has been reported that Kevin McNally, star of Pirates of the Caribbean, was chosen to play the antagonistic role of Max Grendel, a senior manager at Scorpia.
While the eagerly anticipated season 3’s premiere date is still pending, it appears that Alex Rider will be making a quick comeback.
