Finally, the first few artists of the KCON LA 2022 Lineup have been confirmed! KCON is a yearly ceremony that celebrates the spread of the Korean wave. The program was created by Koreaboo and is managed by CJ E&M. The first-ever KCON show was held in 2012 in southern California and as of 2018, it has been held in eight countries by now. The music festival has been held in places like Abu Dhabi, Japan, United Arab Emirates, Paris, and Mexico. However, things were less cheerful during the music festival due to the spread of COVID-19.
In 2020, fans were sad that the all-in-person schedule of KCON had been canceled, evidently due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the creators overcame this obstacle through live streaming and held the KCON 2020 festival online on Mnet’s channel calling it KCON: TACT. The show was an absolute banger as it had many popular artists like Chunga, Verivery, ATEEZ, and IZ*ONE.
The KCON LA 2022 lineup also has many fourth-generation K-pop artists that you would be excited to see performing live. Many of them are also going on tours right now, seems like a busy year for the 4th-gen of K-pop! Now, without further ado, let us start naming down the K-pop artists who have been confirmed for the 1st lineup of KCON LA 2022!
1. CRAVITY
CRAVITY will surely brighten up the KCON LA 2022 lineup with their adorable smiles. They might be performing the second part of their first studio album Liberty: In Our Cosmos. Liberty: In Our Cosmos has eight tracks- Adrenaline ( the title track), Pow!, Boppin, Chandelier, Flip the Flame, Maybe Baby, Late Night, and Outro: In Our Cosmos.
2. ENHYPEN
The next boy group that is gracing the KCON LA 2022 Lineup is the Enhypen boys! This is a group that has been ruling the K-pop industry since 2022. Since, Dimension: Answer is their latest release, fans think that they might be performing the songs in the group’s first studio album. Or they could also perform a few songs from their upcoming comeback Manifesto: Day 1 ( their third extended play).
3. ITZY
ITZY will be performing as part of the KCON LA 2022 lineup while they are on their first world tour, CHECKMATE. JYP Entertainment had announced that the girls will be going on a world tour and will also be releasing their fifth Extended Play of the same name.
4. NMIXX
NMIXX is the newest monster rookie in town. Along with 2022 came a lot of more new girl groups, and most of them are really spectacular ( NMIXX is one of them)! They debuted in February this year through Ad Mare. Through KCON, they might be performing in their first music festival!
5. STAYC
Even when STAYC does not belong to a very well-known company, the girls have been breaking it since its debut! The line- “STAYC girls it’s going down”, has become iconic. The girl group had made a comeback with their second Extended Play Young.Luv. The album also became their first album to debut atop the Gaon Album Chart.
6. The BOYZ
The BOYZ is one of the leading groups of the 4th-Gen, so it would have been a surprise if they were not added to the KCON LA 2022 Lineup. The group was busy promoting their promotional single named Sweet this year.
7. WJSN
WJSN is the only third-gen group that has been announced to be a part of the 1st lineup of KCON LA 2022. The girl group went on to participate in the second season of Queendom and won the show! WJSN is to release their special single album Sequence really soon in July.
