Let’s do the Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 2 recap. The debut episode of this Disney+ original series gave us an idea of what happened to the Galactic Empire a decade after the events that brought the demise of the Republic. Now, the empire is in full force and the Inquisitors are on the hunt for the remaining Jedi.
In the past episode, Obi-Wan Kenobi accepted Bail Organa’s request to rescue Leia from her abductors, so he travels to Daiyu, a crowded planet in search of her. What he doesn’t know is that he’s walking right into a trap set up by Inquisitor Reva, who purposefully ordered the abduction of Leia Organa to lure Obi-Wan out of exile. Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 2 Recap
We begin the episode in Daiyu, a crowded planet city. There are beggars, gamblers, hoodlums, and con-artists on every corner. And Master Kenobi prays to the Force to help him contact Qui-Gon Jinn for assistance. He starts asking around for Leia, and a drug dealer gives him some narcotics. After that, another girl approaches him telling him that a Jedi could assist him. So, she leads him to that Jedi. As it turns out, it’s no Jedi, but a con artist named Heja Estree who swindles refugees out of their money.
Kenobi forces Heja at gunpoint to help him find Leia, and he accepts. Then, Obi-Wan starts roaming the streets and enters a bar. He sees something weird and goes into the back of it, turns out that his Jedi instincts lead him right to Leia. A fight ensues between some bounty hunters and Leia’s abductors who take Obi-Wan and overpower him. But just at the right minute, the Jedi defeats them in combat and rescues a reluctant Leia.
Leia Meets Obi-Wan
When Leia meets Obi-Wan, she’s reluctant to follow him. Still, given the circumstances, she follows suit. Her snappy remarks and bravado remind Kenobi of Padmé Amidala. They start running for cover in the streets, so he tells Leia to say that she’s her daughter. And Leia asks Obi-Wan why he’s so old and beat up. Meanwhile, the Inquisitors scold Reva for kidnapping Leia. And Reva tells the Grand Inquisitor that she did so because she found a link in the archives that connects Obi-Wan to Leia. Then, the Grand Inquisitor tells Reva to leave as he plans to take credit for hunting Kenobi. But she won’t.
Leia doubts Obi-Wan is a Jedi though she saw her lightsaber. She keeps making remarks that give out their situation on the streets. After that, Kenobi and Leia walk into an alley, only to be ambushed by a bounty hunter that quickly loses the battle in combat to Obi-Wan and Leia is impressed, yet not fully convinced by Obi-Wan’s Jedi status.
Runaway
When Leia sees a wanted sign on Obi-Wan’s head, she runs away from him because she distrusts him and a ruckus ensues. As Kenobi chases the little girl, a laser-blaster battle ensues between stormtroopers, bounty hunters and him atop the rooftops. Then, Reva senses Kenobi’s presence and jumps in.

During the gunfight on the rooftops, Leia has to run away from some blaster fire and she is on the edge of a building. Then, faced with getting caught, she tries to jump to the next one but it’s too far. So, she falls and hangs precariously from a wire until she can’t hold on any longer. But that’s when Obi-Wan decided to use the force to stop her fall, revealing his presence to the Inquisitors and complicating things. But he convinced Leia that he’s a Jedi.
In the alley, Kenobi finds Heja, who gives him the key to a cargo ship. As they make way towards it, Heja confronts Inquisitor Reva, who uses the Force to read his mind and get to Kenobi. After that, Obi-Wan and Leia hide in the cargo bay, while Reva searches the cargo bay. She teases and says that Anakin Skywalker is still alive, and that puts severe strain on Kenobi.
Near Miss
Reva almost finds them, only to be interrupted by another Inquisitor who plans to take credit for Kenobi’s capture. But Reva kills him with her lightsaber. During that confrontation, Leia activates the ship and they fly away together, while Reva swears they will find them. As the ship flies away, a terrified Obi-Wan starts to think about Anakin and senses his presence. He says “Anakin”. Then, a smash cut to Darth Vader without his mask breathing through a mask with his eyes open and heavy breathing. Then, Obi-Wan’s presence makes him open his eyes. The end.
Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 3 Possible Plotlines
Episode 3 of this series will likely give us the fallout resulting from Obi-Wan’s and Leia’s escape. Furthermore, on the Galactic Empire’s side, we will see how the authorities will interpret Reva’s assassination of a superior Inquisitor. Meanwhile, we might also see how Alderaan’s Senator Bail organizes Leia’s rescue. With that, we conclude our coverage of this topic.
