This movie, Major, was all set to release the last year itself. The first release date of the movie was 2nd July 2021 but due to the worldwide pandemic i.e. COVID-19, the movie-makers couldn’t release the film. However, the second date for the premiere of the movie was 11th February 2022 but again due to the rise in the new variant of the corona, Omicron, they again had to shift the date.
The filming of the movie started and was completed in the same year, 2020. Finally, now, the confirmed release date of the movie is out. The movie will premiere on 27th May 2022 on the big screens i.e. theatres.

The very awaited upcoming movie, Major, is an Indian biographical action film. Originally it was shot in two languages, Telugu and Hindi, and then dubbed into the Malayalam language as well. Sony Pictures India, G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment, and A+S movies are the production companies involved in this movie.
The main filming locations involved in the shooting of this film were the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai and some parts of Hyderabad. It had multiple announcements of different release dates, but due to some issues, the makers of the film had to postpone the premiere.
The storyline of Major
This movie actually contains a storyline inspired by true events. The plot revolves around the life and sacrifice of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. He saved so many lives without thinking about his own life. It is about the infamous terrorist attack on the popular hotel, Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai.
The attack took place on 26th November 2008. Sandeep, before being martyred, helped numerous hostages. For his dedication and work during the attack, he was awarded the Ashoka Chakra on 26th January 2009. The Ashoka Chakra is India’s highest peacetime gallantry award. He was one of the many people who were martyred on that day and will always be remembered for his sacrifice.

The main star cast of the movie includes Adivi Sesh as Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, Sobhita Dhulipala as Pramoda, Saiee Manjrekar as Isha, Prakash Raj as K. Unnikrishnan, Revathi Nair as Dhanalakshmi Unnikrishnan, and Murali Sharma. Other cast members of the film are Bagria Azzy, Vinay Nallakadi, Andre’ Mathews, and Bjorn Seiz.
A very famous and dashing south Indian actor, Mahesh Babu, is the producer of the movie along with Anurag Reddy and Sharath Chandra. Adivi Sesh, the lead actor, is himself the writer of this amazing screenplay. The director of the film is Sashi Kiran Tikka.
