Moreover, the fact it is a double single release has also made a big impact on its popularity. “Take You Down” featuring Coogie and its B-side track “Lights” is winning hearts not only domestically but also globally.
This newly released music video for “Take Me Down” is based on the aftermath of heartbreak. In the clip, we can see the artist stumbling into a club to party and drink his pain out. Passing out and then waking up at home, he comes face to face with the reality of his breakup.
The beautiful and emotional chorus goes, “Take you down, down, down/I will just say I don’t want to go, don’t leave me alone/ Take you down, down, down/You gotta love but you don’t have me, don’t leave me alone,” has left everyone feeling the emotions through the screen.
The second verse, which is sung by Coogie, completely contrasts the chorus. It goes, “Please leave me alone, I am sick of it/ Deleted all the cheesy songs made for you/ Think makeup that covered your face/ Ended up seeing your bare face under that.”
The contrast can be seen very clearly, and many fans out there are coming up with their theories about the same. Many relate it to the dilemma one faces when one goes through a heartbreak.
Moreover, this song is Yugyeom’s first project since he made his solo debut with his EP titled “Point Of View: U,” which was released in June 2021.
