The Duffers said, “We’re focused on visual effects sequences right now. We started back in January, so it’s going well. We’re actually ahead of schedule, which is rare for us, so that’s great.”
During the panel, they also confirmed that Stranger Things Season 5 will arrive in 2025. “It’s coming this year,” they said, leading to an excited response from the audience. They did not provide an exact date but reassured fans that they will not have to wait until 2026 for new episodes.
Stranger Things Season 5 Will Feature Long Episodes
Stranger Things is different from most TV shows. Many of its episodes feel more like short films rather than traditional episodes. The final three episodes of Season 4 had long runtimes, with the finale reaching an impressive 2 hours and 22 minutes. This made it one of the longest episodes in a TV series.
The cast and creators have hinted that Season 5 will follow the same pattern. In a recent interview with Collider’s Steve Weintraub, actor Finn Wolfhard mentioned that some episodes would be around 45 to 50 minutes, while others would be much longer.
