The second season of XO, Kitty on Netflix makes everything bigger and more dramatic than before. Kitty (Anna Cathcart), the main character, finds her love life more complicated. She gets closer to both Yuri (Gia Kim) and Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee), which creates problems for everyone.
Things get even messier because both Yuri and Min Ho are in relationships with other people. Yuri is dating Juliana (Regan Aliyah), and Min Ho is with Stella (Audrey Huynh), but Kitty’s growing feelings for them make everything complicated.
Kitty also digs deeper into her family’s past. She learns about her mom’s attempts to fix a family feud from the past, and now Kitty wants to be the one to fix things. Kitty is determined to make things right and learn more about her roots.
While all this is happening, a new character, Stella, becomes a significant villain in this season. She creates “Moon Leaks,” a series of secrets that aim to ruin Min Ho’s father, Moon (Philippe Lee). Stella does this because she wants revenge for being humiliated by Moon years ago on one of his reality shows. This adds even more tension to the season as everyone is trying to deal with their own drama while Stella stirs up trouble.
The season builds up to a talent competition where Stella, Dae (Minyeong Choi), and Eunice (Han Bi Ryu) compete for a big prize. The winner of the competition will get a large amount of money and a chance to perform with Min Ho’s brother, Joon Ho (Peniel), on his summer tour.
The Big Finale of Season 2: Everything Comes Together
In the Season 2 finale, things come to a head during the talent competition. Kitty uncovers a secret: Stella is blackmailing Min Ho. Stella forces him to help her win the competition, or else she will reveal that Joon Ho’s girlfriend, Eun Ji (Rosy), is pregnant with his child. Kitty comes up with a plan to save the day when she realizes that Joon Ho loves Eun Ji.
Kitty and Min Ho go to Moon and tell him the truth. Joon Ho then decides to make things public. He reveals that Eun Ji is pregnant and asks her to marry him in front of everyone at the competition.
This takes away all of Stella’s power. Without her blackmail material, Stella can no longer stop the truth from coming out. After this, Moon apologizes to Stella and tells her she is no longer allowed to perform. Stella leaves, and her plan falls apart.
During the competition, Stella tries to sabotage her competitors. She poisons Dae’s backup dancers, ruins his backup music, and even damages Eunice’s shoes. Despite all this, Kitty, Yuri, Q (Anthony Keyvan), Juliana, and Jin (Joshua Hyunho Lee) step in to help.
They fill in as Dae’s backup dancers, and Professor Lee (Michael K. Lee) plays the music for Dae. Dae and Eunice give their best performances, but in the end, Eunice wins the competition. She will now get to perform as the opening act for Joon Ho’s summer tour.
Kitty Brings Her Family Together
Throughout Season 2, Kitty learns that Simon (Yun II Han), who she thought was her mom’s (Eve’s) boyfriend, is actually her cousin. Kitty discovers that her grandmother (Halmoni in Korean) (Ae Yon Han) and her sister, Soon Ja (Hye Sun Jung), have been separated for many years. Halmoni left Korea after she got married, and they have not spoken to each other since.
Eve tried many times to bring the two sisters back together. She even planned to visit Korea with a young Kitty, but before they could make the trip, Eve passed away. Now, it is up to Kitty and her cousin, Jiwon (Hojo Shin), to try again. They manage to convince Soon Ja to agree to the reunion, but they need help.
Peter (Noah Centineo) makes a surprise appearance in the season, not just as a friend to Kitty but also as someone who tries to help with the reunion. Margot (Janelle Parish) also prepares to fly to Korea with Halmoni. However, their plans are delayed when there are problems with their flight. Min Ho, being the hero, saves the day with his private jet.
Finally, Kitty’s grandmother and great-aunt are reunited in an emotional moment. This reunion ends the two-season storyline of Kitty investigating her mom’s past and her reasons for going to K.I.S.S. school. It’s a touching moment for Kitty, her family, and the viewers.
A Complex Web of Relationships
By the end of XO, Kitty Season 2, a few relationships are solidified. Q and Jin are now a couple, and they have a heart-to-heart conversation about their futures. Q talks about his track career, and Jin opens up about how he feels uncertain about his future in track. This brings them closer together, and they are now in a strong relationship.
Juliana and Praveena (Sasha Basin) are also together. Juliana explains to Yuri that she and Praveena became close after prom. However, it seems like Juliana might still have unresolved feelings for Yuri. The relationship between Juliana and Praveena may not last long, as it’s clear that Juliana has some unfinished business with Yuri. For now, though, Juliana is happy with Praveena.
Dae and Eunice’s relationship is more complicated. They fight the talent competition, and it looks like they might break up. After Eunice wins the competition, Dae and Eunice share a sweet moment together. However, it is unclear if their relationship will continue or if they will stay apart. Eunice’s summer tour could affect their future.
The love triangle between Kitty, Min Ho, and Yuri seems mostly resolved by the end of Season 2. Kitty, after being ignored by Yuri following their kiss, moves on from her feelings for her. Although they make up as friends, it’s clear that their romantic storyline is over for now. The show would need to show Yuri having real feelings for Kitty and fighting for her if they want to continue their love story. As of now, it seems like XO, Kitty is focusing on Kitty and Min Ho’s future.
The Hopeful Ending for Kitty and Min Ho
Throughout Season 2, Min Ho supports Kitty in many ways. He is always there for her when she needs him. Kitty starts to realize that she has fallen for him, saying, “A little bit… or a lot.” They have a big fight when Kitty suspects Stella of blackmailing Min Ho, but they make up after they both work together to stop Stella’s plans.
After taking down Stella, Kitty learns that she has received another year of her scholarship and will return to K.I.S.S. in the fall. She’s too shy to admit her feelings for Min Ho, but she asks him if she can join him on Joon Ho’s summer tour. Min Ho says yes, and they both walk away together.
However, things are still complicated. Kitty previously broke Min Ho’s heart, and Dae got angry with him after learning about his feelings for Kitty.
If XO, Kitty gets renewed for Season 3, it might take a while for Kitty and Min Ho to get together because of the other complications in their lives. But after all the events of Season 2, it seems like a happy ending is in the cards for Kitty and Min Ho. Fans are excited to see how their love story will unfold in the next season.
