Glen Powell’s remake of Running Man has been growing with a talented cast in recent weeks. However, there is also a big update about another of his projects. Michael Waldron shared on his personal Instagram that Chad Powers, the upcoming football series he wrote with Powell, has finished filming.
The first picture of Powell as the main character came out at the end of August, and fans were surprised by how different he looked from his previous roles. In the new Hulu series, Powell will have a thin mustache and long, flowing blonde hair, a big change from his usual five o’clock shadow and neatly trimmed hair we often see.
Michael Waldron began his career by writing one episode of Rick and Morty, the popular comedy series streaming on Hulu, Max, and Netflix. His first major success came when he wrote the script for Loki, one of the first Marvel shows on Disney+.
Waldron continued working with Marvel when he wrote for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the sequel starring Benedict Cumberbatch, where Elizabeth Olsen plays the main villain, Scarlet Witch. Waldron also created both seasons of Heels, a wrestling drama with Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig that started streaming on Netflix over the summer.
Although he was set to write Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, he left those projects, and Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely took over.
Glen Powell is a Genuine Movie Star
In recent years, Glen Powell has become a true movie star, especially after his role in Top Gun: Maverick, which made him well-known. He followed this success with a role alongside Sydney Sweeney in Anyone But You, a romantic comedy that made over $220 million worldwide.
Earlier this year, he also starred with Adria Arjona in the Netflix Original movie Hit Man and led the cast in Twisters, which is one of the ten highest-grossing films of the year.
Chad Powers has finished production, but it does not have an official release date yet. Keep an eye on Otakukart for more updates and watch Powell in Twisters, which is now available on VOD.
