ATRI -My Dear Moments- is set to air in Japan on TOKYO MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV starting July 13, 2024, with additional broadcasts on AT-X from July 15, 2024. The anime promises a charming journey. Nogizaka46 will perform the opening theme titled “Ano Hikari” (“That Light”), while 22/7 will grace the series with the ending theme “YES to NO no Ma ni” (“The Space Between YES and NO”).
Based on the visual novel developed by Frontwing and Makura and published by ANIPLEX.EXE, the anime is set in a near-future world where an unexplained rise in sea levels has submerged significant portions of human civilization.
The protagonist, Ikaruga Natsuki, is a young man who has endured significant hardships, including the loss of his mother and one of his legs in an accident. Returning disheartened from a tough life in the big city, he finds his old countryside home partially swallowed by the sea.
Left without a family, Natsuki’s only possessions are a ship and a submarine inherited from his oceanologist grandmother, along with her considerable debts. In a desperate bid to reclaim his lost dreams, Natsuki accepts a proposition from a dubious debt collector named Catherine.
Together, they set sail to explore the sunken remains of his grandmother’s laboratory, searching for a rumored treasure. However, instead of riches, they discover Atri, a strange girl asleep in a coffin at the bottom of the sea.
Atri is a robot, yet her lifelike appearance and emotional expressiveness could easily be mistaken for those of a human. Grateful for being salvaged, Atri pledges to Natsuki, “I want to fulfill my master’s final order. Until I do, I’ll be your leg!”
This marks the beginning of an unforgettable summer in a small town gradually being consumed by the ocean, where Natsuki and the mysterious robot girl Atri set out on a poignant and adventurous journey together.
Makoto Katou takes the helm as director of the ATRI -My Dear Moments- TV anime at the esteemed animation studio TROYCA. Jukki Hanada lends expertise as the series composer and scriptwriter, while Michio Sato assumes the role of character designer and chief animation director. Fumimori Matsumoto adds musical depth to his compositions.
ATRI -My Dear Moments- promises to be a visually and emotionally attractive series, blending elements of science fiction and heartfelt storytelling to explore themes of loss, hope, and the human connection. With its compelling premise and talented creative team, the anime is set to enchant audiences when it airs this summer.
