While Angie and Michael attempt to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of a fitness enthusiast, Will and Faith strive to safeguard a pregnant woman from an assailant who is on the run. The episode’s emotional core, however, is Will Trent’s attempt to make peace with the parent-child dynamic he will never know since he is given the extraordinary opportunity to assist in the birth of a new kid.
A young lady goes to meet someone at an abandoned building. She gets covered with a black hood by someone, and the door is stuck.
Will and Betty arrived to congratulate Angie on passing her physical and to offer her an ice pack to relieve her sore back. Angie is thrilled to see them both, but she also worries why Will is skipping work and if he has spoken to anybody about the explosion yet.
Will believes that the woman was the intended victim and that one of the victims attempted to shield her, but the first guy shot the second, and the victim stabbed herself in the first to escape. Though it was too late, Will believes she made an effort to assist the second victim.
Michael dodges the subject of Gina’s infidelity when Angie presses him, saying they’re going to move on. He’s making a great effort. In addition to buying the kids’ favorite foods and making reservations for supper, he is also dropping them off at school more often.
Angie was given a small welcome back by Michael, but the captain had previously prepared a body and was waiting for them in the morgue.
