The Australian reality television show Married at First Sight is based on the Danish series Gift Ved Første Blik. In the show, a group of strangers are paired by experts to take part in a social experiment.
Participants in this installment are not legally married, as they are not required by Australian law to give a month’s notice before getting married. Instead, an unofficial commitment ceremony is being held. The Nine Network hosted the television show’s world premiere on May 18, 2015.
First-time couples meet at the altar, spend their “wedding night” at a hotel, and then set out on their honeymoon. After their return, they live together for a while before deciding at a commitment ceremony every week whether to keep dating or break up before moving on.
The experiment is centered on companionship and relationship building, and the experts advise participants to fully immerse themselves in every phase of the process.

Recap
Premiering on January 29, “Married At First Sight Australia” season 11, or “MAFS” to its devoted fan base, promised more guaranteed splits than a dessert shop with a banana theme. It’s wedding bells ringing, which means more drama, buttdials, and love.
The age range of the Season 11 cast spans from 26 to 62 years old. Truth-telling PR babe Lauren, 31, started to worry that 39-year-old nice guy Jonathan is “too nice” at the altar. While 26-year-old professional kickboxer Jayden is chasing a knockout bride, nurse Ellie, 32, is tired of doctors.
A runaway groom threw a wrench in the works, but this season was supposed to make history by featuring a gay male couple on the show for the first time in ten years (the first lesbian couple debuted in 2020).
