Marshall Bruce Mathers III, professionally known as Eminem, is considered the greatest rapper of all time and is famous in Middle America. Apart from MGK, he has been in a feud with Will Smith, Christina Aguilera, Joe Budden, Mariah Carey, and more. However, he gets appreciated for being a white rapper by breaking the racial barriers.
Eminem set a Guinness World Record by spitting 1560 words within six minutes and four seconds, which means 7.5 words per second. He released his tenth studio album, Kamikaze, in 2018 and targeted several rappers, especially the mumble rappers, besides MGK throughout the album.
On the other hand, Colson Baker, professionally known as Machine Gun Kelly (MGK), is an actor, singer, and songwriter, besides being a rapper. He has been in feuds with the American rapper G-Easy and the Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor. MGK acted in Beyond The Light (2014), The Land (2016), Nerve (2016), Bird Box (2018), and more.
MGK Before Eminem’s Meme
It all started when MGK called Eminem’s teenage daughter Hailie hot (expletive) in 2012, discomforting Eminem. Later, MGK stated Eminem threw him from Interscope Records and Shade 45, but the latter denied the allegation.
MGK alleged Eminem of hindering his career, but the latter reportedly stated that he had nothing to do with MGK. Moreover, Eminem claimed not even thinking about MGK because the former has been with more great rappers than the latter.
After that, MGK made a new rap song whose lyrics stated that Eminem came up with a diss to backfire on him. Things went too far, though they could be different if the two parties cleared their matter maturely.
In September 2018, Eminem suddenly released his album Kamikaze with more diss, firing warning shots at MGK. Calling it a controversial song would be an understatement. After that, MGK released a song, ‘Rap Devil,’ against Eminem’s ‘Rap God.’
After a few shots against each other, Eminem posted his four photos each on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Tinder in the name of the Dolly Parton Challenge. He was already in a long feud with MGK, but the latter’s response to the former’s meme boosted their rivalry.

On 25 January 2020, MGK responded to the four photos (meme) by tweeting that the 50-year-old uses this method to relate himself to the youth. Surprisingly, he deleted the tweet later. Meanwhile, Eminem stated that he was forty-five but outsold MGK, who was much younger than him.
Thus, MGK was only twenty-eight when he compared himself to a 45-year-old who sold three multi-platinum albums before thirty. Eminem also stated that MGK will never get counted among top hip-hop singers.
Dolly Parton, who began the Dolly Parton Challenge to push people to reveal their different photos on different social media sites, is a 77-year-old American actress, singer, and songwriter. Thus, MGK specifically mocked Eminem due to their feud, not his age.
Finally, Eminem released his studio album ‘Music To Be Murdered By’ on 17 January 2020 and forgave MGK, considering himself God. The lyrics also state that God even forgives the devils, so why not MGK?
Meanwhile, MGK still could not digest it and continued to mock Eminem through his tweets the day after the album’s release. Some people think MGK had a downfall, but it is not true. He worked on several projects after the rap beef with Eminem, and his acting skills might work as a backup.
People’s Reaction
Some Twitter users were suspicious of Eminem being homophobic because he mentioned his presence on Tinder through the meme. It pushed other Twitter users to flood the comment section with their own memes while others sat aside and enjoyed the flood. Most users found the fourth photo (Tinder) hilarious and appreciated Eminem for being so funny.
Twitter users witnessed an official MGK X Eminem rap beef. They appreciated MGK for dissing Eminem because no other singer would have done that. Moreover, they thanked MGK for coming ahead to motivate Eminem to release a diss track.
Meanwhile, Reddit users were annoyed by Eminem and MGK constantly bombing each other throughout 2020. MGK mocked Eminem for being older than him, which represents people’s belief that older artists lose their skills over time. However, we know it is not true in every case.
Sometimes, rap beef might get out of control, but this case is pretty decent. Currently, it looks like the MGK X Eminem rap beef is over, but we will enjoy it if it continues to be under control.
