Apple TV’s spy thriller returns with new information on Catherine’s kidnappers, and it turns out the “gun to the head” scenario was just staged. With Lamb now having a lead on finding out the location of these kidnappers, the culprit reveal might be coming soon.
Based on the works of Mick Herron, Slow Horses is a crime drama that revolves around MI5 rejects who have been sent to the Slough House for messing up their missions. These employees aren’t sacked. Instead, they’re made to complete dull tasks that the rest of the administration dislikes.
The Slough House led by Lamb is different, as besides doing the boring paperwork, the employees are exceptionally skilled at investigating cases using different perspectives and methods.
The 3rd season of Slow Horses returns with Gary Oldman in the role of Jackson Lamb, Jack Lowden as River Cartwright, Kristin Thomas as Diana, and Saskia Reeves playing the role of Catherine Standish.
Recap
River runs to the bridge in a hurry after Spider asks him to meet. There, he’s informed that Catherine has been kidnapped by unidentified people, who have also threatened Spider to convey the message. The task involves collecting the PM’s vetting files from the Park.
River doesn’t accept the request as he doesn’t see a way to bypass the security and get the files. That’s when Spider reveals that these people target Catherine, Spider, and his family. If River fails to bring the files to them by midday, they won’t hesitate to kill the innocent family members.
With no other choice, the River runs towards the Park. Meanwhile, Jackson Lamb finds out about the kidnapping and also sees the same strange men monitoring their building. Ho calls the police to distract the people outside their house while Shirley and Marcus find the guy keeping an eye on them.
Their cover is soon blown away, and they start chasing the man on foot. He gets into a van and leaves, after which Lamb asks Shirley and Marcus to stop the chase and head back to the House.
At the Park, River gets into the building on the pretense of returning the diamond that belonged to Duffy. Before Duffy can find out whether it is a real diamond, River goes to the lower floors of the Park. There, he meets Hobbs, who decides to accompany him.
River has to knock Hobbs out to get inside the file storage area. By this time, Lamb and the others are aware of River’s whereabouts. Back at the laundromat, Lamb meets up with Sam Chapman. After a small discussion, Lamb finds out who the person creating this mess could be.
Catherine’s kidnappers offer her food. Turns out, they aren’t as aggressive, and the picture with the gun on Catherine’s head was just set up to threaten River. Lamb commands River to stop what he’s doing and go back to the house. River somehow escapes out of the Park but is caught by Duffy, who then shoves him into his car.

In the upcoming episode, Lamb will continue the search for the one causing chaos at Slough House. Although he has an idea of who it could be, the mystery is still mostly unsolved. Marcus and Shirley end up being the ones to handle all of Lamb’s wrath.
As for River, he’ll probably find a way to come out of Duffy’s hands. After the recent turn of events, Cartwright’s all geared up to take revenge for what he was made to go through.

Episode 3 of Slow Horses will be coming out on December 6th, 2023. All-new suspenseful episodes of Slow Horses are usually aired on Wednesdays, with each episode lasting for 46-50 minutes.
Apple TV+ comes out with new exciting episodes of Slow Horses at 2:00 AM ET for US viewers. No other platform hosts the suspense-filled episodes of Slow Horses, as it’s an Apple TV original.

Catherine is still in the hands of the kidnappers, although they don’t seem like the kind who’ll put her in danger. It’ll be exciting to see Lamb, River, and the others find out who the culprit is.
