The second season of The Santa Clauses is almost here, returning Tim Allen’s portrayal of Santa to Disney+ for yet another thrilling installment. After 28 years in the role, Tim Allen’s character Scott Calvin in The Santa Clauses observes that his enchantment is starting to fade.
After Scott announces his retirement, his hand-picked St. Nick successor is tech whiz Simon Choksi (Kal Penn). Meanwhile, Scott, Mrs. Claus Carol (Elizabeth Mitchell), and their children Cal (Austin Kane) and Sandra (Elizabeth Allen-Dick) leave the North Pole.
As the new Santa, Simon becomes a little too enthusiastic, thinking he can make Christmas a regular occasion, and threatens to ruin the happy occasion forever, while Scott learns startling new information about his origins as Santa Claus.
The Santa Clauses: Season 2 will continue where Season 1 ended, with Scott reprising his position as Santa Claus and making another effort to make sure the mantle is passed to a deserving successor, this time his youngest son Cal. There’s a lot to take in immediately about the highly anticipated second season of The Santa Clauses, a popular Disney+ sitcom about the holidays.
Plot Of The Santa Clauses Season 2
The events of the first season will be continued in the plot of The Santa Clauses season 2. When The Santa Clauses was last onDisney+, Scott finds out he’s been picked to be Santa since his previous Santa wanted to hand down the reins of St. Nick to a mortal instead of an ethereal creature. By coming out of retirement to assume the role of Santa Claus once more, Scott also succeeds in teaching Simon the wrong lessons about being Santa.
These two facets of The Santa Clauses opened up a lot of possibilities for season 2, one of which might be a deeper examination of the 17 Santas that came before Scott. The second season of The Santa Clauses will once more center on Scott’s efforts to select a worthy successor.
He’ll be coaching his youngest son, Cal, this time. Charlie, Scott’s oldest child, has determined that he would much rather raise a family than live as Santa Claus. Disney+ also revealed that Elizabeth Mitchell, who plays Mrs. Claus/Carol, will return.
Eric Stonestreet, a former cast member of Modern Family, has joined the show as Magnus Antas, also known as The Mad Santa, the centuries-old forerunner of Scott Calvin’s Santa Claus. He is Santa’s new adversary and an A-list addition for Season 2.
Sandra, Allen’s onscreen daughter, was played by Elizabeth Allen-Dick, the actor’s real-life daughter, in the first season of the Disney+ original series. In a previous interview with Parade.com, the Golden Globe-winning actor said that Sandra “was a marvelous addition” to The Santa Clauses.
Recap
After choosing Simon Choksi as his replacement and retiring too soon, Allen’s character made a comeback as Santa in the Season 1 finale. The Santa-fication process had not started when Scott put on Santa’s coat, which Simon had never worn.
In the first season, Scott—the first human Santa—learns that Santa Clauses were not accidental; rather, they were meant to lead people like him. His offspring has abilities and has also inherited the North Pole’s enchantment.
In the last episode, before Santa and the Claus family headed out to give gifts together, Santa informed his son that his “apprentice program” would begin that evening. Riley was there as Santa sent Cal down the chimney at the final visit of the evening. After giving her a bouquet of her favorite flowers, poinsettias, Cal told her he was his dad’s “Santa-in-training,” and the two kissed.
“Cal, did you remember to make sure she didn’t remember?” Scott enquired as they got back on the sled. Do you recall? Yes, I did recall. Yes,” a reluctant Cal said to his father. “What possibly go wrong?” Mrs. Claus asked.
