Taking teams over 2,000 miles away to India, season 35 of The Amazing Race is placing the bar way too high for the reality series. After the demanding tasks in Vietnam, another pair ended up leaving the challenge in the last episode.
Airing on CBS since 2001, The Amazing Race is a worldwide competition series that involves challengers making their way through different cities and countries by completing the tasks given to them through clues placed throughout the region.
Each season of this adventure reality series is split into Legs, and the last team to complete each leg or task is sent back home. The pair that manages to win the final leg first will be awarded a large prize of $1,000,000.
Season 35 of The Amazing Race began with a total of 13 pairs made of friends and families. Hosted by Phil Keoghan, the show began airing earlier this year in September 2023. After the fun leg in Vietnam, the team that sadly ended up going home was Jocelyn and Victor.
The Amazing Race Season 35 Episode 4: Recap
For this episode of The Amazing Race, the teams had to continue the challenges in Vietnam, where other than building a successful fish stand in the bustling market, they’d have to deliver a set of mattresses to a hotel.
The remaining eleven teams arrive at the next location in Vietnam, with Steve and Anna Leigh being the first ones to depart. After reaching the restaurant, they reach a detour, which involves selling fish. The pairs would have to scoop up the slimy fish, take it to the stand, and set up their stall in a way that manages those of the local sellers.
The other option was to deliver mattresses to the West Hotel. While this was an easy job if a car or truck was involved, the pairs would have to deliver the mattresses themselves by balancing them on their heads and going through the congested marketplace until they reached the hotel.
Joel and Garrett are the second ones to arrive at the mattress truck. The pair started to go down the street and soon had to stop in the middle to get directions. Moreover, carrying two mattresses at once made the walk much harder.
When Jocelyn and Victor come to the next place, Vietnam, they choose to go with the fish stand, but since they’re not able to create the perfect stand and complete the challenge on time, they are the last ones to arrive at the final location.
Choosing the mattress option was the right decision for many, with it being physically tough to do but relatively simple in design.
