Gordon Ramsay is back with Kitchen Nightmares, a foodie and renovation show in which he visits failing food establishments all over the place to see what’s setting them back.
In season 8 of Kitchen Nightmares, Gordon is even harsher with his no-bullsh*t approach to irresponsible chefs, corrupt managers, lazy servers, and idiotic owners who think that owning a restaurant is just serving food without any qualms on quality of service, sanitary conditions, or kitchen prep work discipline.
So, in each episode, we see a hellish joint getting turned around. If you have seen this show in the past, you know where we come from; if you haven’t, well, you’re in for quite a ride because think of having the Hell’s Kitchen chef and host yell at a chef who thinks he’s better than anybody else, or a restaurant owner who thinks that they can drink while on the job or laying down the law on some smug waitresses and waiters. It’s quite a show.
Kitchen Nightmares Season 8 Episode 1 Recap
In this season’s debut, Gordon goes to a restaurant called the Bel Aire, owned by two brothers who are always fighting over managerial decisions.
That’s not all; the menu is a mess, the service is poor, and when Gordon enters the kitchen and checks out the pantry, fridges, stoves, and storage space, he and his crew literally barf from the poor sanitation conditions of the place.
Not only does Gordon heavily scold the restaurant owners about the dire health conditions of the place, sternly pointing out that they’re serving poison, questioning whether or not they’re psychopaths trying to kill people from food poisoning, but he also has a huge beef with some servers and a chef from a low-rent food joint who thinks he knows better than Gordon.
Still, Gordon has one of his usual meltdowns, has a meeting with the owners, the servers, and chefs, makes them take out all the rotten food, has them clean up the place top to bottom, and since the place is so dirty and nasty, he has a cleaning crew with hazmat suits work the place.
After that, they work on restocking everything, coach the chefs on a new menu experience, set up a cold reopening, and with some setbacks concerning the servers, the thing takes off. Gordon leaves the place and goes home after saving yet another failed diner.
