The story is about childhood friends Song Yan and Xu Qin, who share a beautiful bond. The two seem inseparable, and their families dislike their friendship. They are forced to part ways. So far, the story has turned out bittersweet. Even though Xu Qin and Song Yan manage to save the baby, and everything seems happy, the happiness is short lasting. Song Yan is injured badly, and Xu Qin tries to reach out to him despite people suggesting that it’s dangerous. The episode begins with Xu Qin looking around for Song Yan.

Upon enquiring from the nurse, she learned that Director Xu had already been operating on him. She sits outside his tent, waiting for a long time. Song Yan’s companion dog Meng from the fire and rescue department also arrives on the spot. Xu Qin rushes towards him and takes care of him, and later hands him on to another rescuer to take him back to safety.

She sees a patient with a broken leg arrives. She prepares to operate while trying to focus and think about her oath. She successfully completes the operation and rushes back to Song Yan’s tent to find a dead body being taken away.

Her heart sinks, but she soon finds out that Yan has been shifted to another ward and is out of danger. She takes a glance from outside and faints. After some time, she wakes up in the same ward with her bed adjacent to Yan. She even pulls her bed closer to his and adjusts his blanket. The next morning the two wake up and ask each other, “Are you okay? ”. When the nurse comes to check on them, they pretend to be asleep.

She arranges their bed properly. When the two rest, Qin’s brother Meng visits her and leaves after giving some stuff to a nurse. Officer Li informs everyone that Jiang’s mother and aunt are safe in another village. A wave of happiness starts. On the other hand, Qin takes care of Yan when his friend Lu Jie arrives. He recognizes Xu Qin as he sees his photo with the short hair that Song Yan used to carry.

He calls her sister-in-law, but Yan cuts him off. After she leaves, Lu questions if he made a mistake, but Yan disagrees. He asks her if he didn’t marry her yet, and he nods. The two share a conversation, and then Yan’s teammates from the fire and rescue team arrive. They joke about him looking more handsome after surgery and also tell him that Qin cares for him a lot.

When Yan goes out of the tent for a walk, he finds Xu Qin sleeping outside the tent. She wakes up and helps him in his walk. The two talk about their old days, and Xu Qin has to leave. Before she does, the two decide to meet again after the work is done.
