Thunder in My Heart, the Sweden Drama, after the successful airing of its eight episodes on 23rd May 2021, returns this year with the second installment of the series. The teen, coming-of-age drama was praised for its realistic display of the life of characters and their interactions among themselves in the story being so heartfelt and true to life.
The show follows a young lady Sigrid, 22 years of age, who, along with her friends, has to navigate the challenges life throws at them as they rise to adulthood and understand what an adult is really all about.
It explores romantic love, sex, support of friends, and strife in the family, along with more dark concepts impacting life in general, with the characters’ lives likened to real-life stories. As the drama contains mature concepts and is vividly detailed in its cinematic presentation, viewers’ discretion is advised.
Thunder in My Heart is a rising show of the network: Viaplay Group, leaving many of its competitors far behind, with its main cast consisting of experienced actors who have delivered their roles outstandingly, prominently breathing life into their characters. Thunder in My Heart Season 1 – Recap
The story of Thunder in My Heart revolves around three young characters- Sigrid, Sam, and Antonia, and we delve deeper into their lives and the struggles they face every day. Being young adults, they are figuring out how to best navigate into the world of adults with responsibility and strength without entirely losing themselves while maturing.
Sigrid is in a fix with having to deal with a cruel father who is bent on using violence, especially while bringing her brother in order, putting a strain on their relationship. Meanwhile, Sam has much on his plate, having to deal with his depressed father and Antonia. Sigge, Sigrid’s best friend, is in an affair with an old acquaintance.
The chemistry between the characters is flawlessly well-represented, with the accurate tone delivery and emotions being felt by the audience as sweet moments and frictional clashes. After the passing of a year, the lonely Sigrid is reflecting back on the events that took place with her parents breaking up their relationship and her father’s dark, psychologically manipulative ways leading to disastrous consequences for her younger brother, Benjamin.

Amy Deasismont, who plays the role of 22-year-old Sigrid, won the best female actor award of Kristallen TV in 2021 for her main role as ‘Sigge’ in Thunder in My Heart season 1.
Julia Lyskova Juhlin as Antonia, Sigrid’s best friend who provides ‘Sigge’ support and advice at times of need.
Alexander Abdallah acts as Sam, a troubled young man caring for his depressed father while coming to terms with himself, his desires, and whom he loves.

The new season of this Swedish Drama, Thunder in My Heart Season 2 Episode 1, is set to release on 23rd April 2023 on the Viaplay group’s network platform. All eight episodes of about 25-31 minutes will be made available together at once for the audiences on the platform. Currently, there is no exact time schedule for the episode release out yet, however.
