Boys Planet is finally back again with another new episode! With the fans eagerly waiting to know what happens to our contestants as they put all their blood, sweat and tears to be a part of a debut group from this survival show.
A number of popular K-pop groups like TWICE, SKZ (Stray Kids) and ENHYPEN have been formed through Variety TV shows and have since witnessed huge success in the K-pop industry. Similarly, Boys Planet is an audition-style variety show which is set form a brand new group by choosing the best of the best among the participants!
Premiering its first episode on 2nd February, 2023, Boys Planet is set to have 12 Episodes in total. Sequel to the variety show Girls Planet 999 (2021), which was the exact same but searching for female idols, Boys Planet will be showcasing the potential of its male contestants- from Korea and Globally, who are supported by fans all over the world.
Synopsis
A bunch of hopeful new K-pop trainees and a few veterans come to Boys Planet to achieve one goal – form a new group that will be competing on charts with the main stream ones that already exist. With around 93 trainees from all over the world, the show tries to bring out their talent to help the best ones debut!
Two groups will be formed by the end of the show – one K-Group for the South Korean contestants and one G-Group for the global contestants. These trainees have come all the way from Japan, China, the US and many other countries with the dream of entering the K-pop industry.
In order to prove their capability, they’re asked to perform various tasks and put on performances for the hosts to judge and give them critical reviews and how to improve themselves. Those who are able to take the criticism and refine themselves are the ones with higher chances of reaching the top. Aside from their own capabilities, the viewers votes are also valuable in helping them win.
Trainers and Star Masters of Boys Planet
The trainees in Boys Planet are given mentors in each field to help them improve; apart from them, the Star Masters include Hwang Min Hyun, Yeo Jin Goo and Sunmi. All these panel members then finally come together and judge the performances that these trainees put up.
Hwang Min-Hyun
Min Hyun is best known for being a former member of the boy groups NU’EST and Wanna One. Currently signed under Pledis Entertainment, Min Hyun is set to release his own solo album this coming week on February 27,2023.
Sunmi
Lee Sun-Mi or Sunmi is a popular K-pop singer who’s been around in the industry for a long time. Former member of Wonder Girls, Sunmi made her solo debut in 2013 and since, has had her breakthrough with her viral hit song ‘Gashina’ which was released in 2017.
Yeo Jin Goo
Yeo Jin Goo, the final Star Master of Boys Planet is a South Korean Actor well-known for his roles in ‘Hotel De Luna’ alongside IU. Jin Goo debuted as a child actor and also won awards for his role in ‘Hwayi: A Monster Boy’.
